it wont make a difference either way they will veg there is no "preflower" cycle. plants only show preflowers after they reach a certain age. just keep your light cycle the same untill you flower then flip to 12/12

Don't do a switch like automatic, make it gradually go down in time, like 15-30 minutes each day as mother nature does.
First day 23.5 hrs next 23 hours, til you reach your desired time level, from what I've seen it can severely shock the plants if you do an automatic switch.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's just my .02

that actually makes a lot of sense so in week 4 I can start taking the time down slowly will you see changes in the plants quick

Not really too quick, it is probably going to be slower the longer the time is on if you bring it down to 12/12 gradually you'll see a greater difference after you set it at 12/12 but again.
Correct me if I'm wrong, this could shock the plant as you took its hours down half in a matter of two weeks instead of two months. It all depends on the seeds genetics, I have only used a few seeds, and grow the same seeds in my area as all strains react differently, grow differently, and produce differently.
And I use the same feeds with each plants besides my gardens and house plants. You don't want to have around 5 water jugs (1 for each plant)
Cannabis, all depends on who is growing it, I'd just recommend finding growers who have the same strain as you growing and get tips from them, on these forums but also, some of the growers use completely different techniques when growing such as hydro compared to soil. I'm all soil, and organic, natural, so mine take around 4-8 months depending on the strain growing at the time.
Nutes, Ferts, and rich soils such as Fox Farms and Happy Frog, will help boost growth. But again, these soils depend on what seed your growing, some genetics have different levels they want with N-P-K levels. I'd just suggest, go to a grow shop and talk with someone who is 420 friendly, and explain what you have going on.
Just don't mention cannabis unless you're a legal grower, they know what you're referring to 99% of the time as they are usually growers themselves, and is why they're called hydroponic shops.

No offense, but I have been doing that automatic switch you referred to for a decade now, and have never seen the severe shock you mentioned.

Hmmm, see if it's alright, I just know from the way mother nature works its gradual that daylight decreases, not like 18 hours to 12 hours in a matter of a day.
No offense taken, I enjoy learning all that I can, I just have heard in videos and what not that the auto switch is not recommended.
I could be completely wrong and it may not matter, it may even benefit the plant and basically shock it into bloom stages.
So much disinformation everywhere I enjoy knowing the truth.

This season I took mine out from the light (24 h) after three months and went directly outiside

After which every plant was ripped out of the ground and tossed aside by raccoons probably the first night.

A week later I came back to them and found them upground and half dead barely any roots left.

I replanted them and the next day they perked up, they will live.

It may depend on the strain to someextent, but it's a weed yo, they don't go down without a fight, but shock is never good for them.

well the strain im working with is Purple Diesel and sadly I don't/cant find a lot of info on growing and the cycle periods for this plant so its made it a little difficult to figure out a good life cycle

Search for their strains in which used to create that one, I'm sure there are people on here with purple diesel growing, just type in the search bar Purple Diesel.
Or information on Purple Kush and Sour Diesel, as that's what two strains created purple diesel?
