Newbie Questions

Hey I have three questions about growing in a PC Grow box.

1: What soil should I use? Can you give me a cup by cup mixture of soil that I can whip up?

2. What fertilizer can I use? Can you give me a milliliter for milliliter mix of products that i can whip together?

3. What fertilizer can I use after the plant has already completed budding to get more crystals?

If this is your first time growing I wouldn't try mixing your own soil. Go ahead and get Fox Farm Ocean Forest or Happy Frog. Sometimes FFOF can be a little hot for seedlings though.
Assuming price isn't an issue go ahead and get the Fox Farm trio as well. No need to mix anything, just add the correct amount to water and that's it.
When a plant has completed budding your grow is finished and you want to chop the plant. If you mean to increase thc there's products that say they work, but a good grow overall is all you need. You don't need to add a bunch of stuff. Water, fertilizer, soil and that's it. K(eep) I(t) S(imple) S(tupid).

well if your just starting off, Just pick up a bag of soil from where ya can but make sure it has perlite in it. Now with nutes you can go different ways. If on a budget get Miracle Grow thats high in Nitrogen ( I use the single watering can packs that are 24-8-16) that I mix up in a 2ltr(4gallon) milk jug. I start to feed them that after about 1 week into vegging and give them that every other watering. When I flower I use Miracle Grow Ultra Bloom which is high in phosphorus (15-30-15) you want the higher P for bigger flower development. Lots of ppl will tell you that MG is no good but if just for small scale growing its fine. I was just watching some videos and noticed that alot of big growers actually use the same stuff.
also you dont want to use nutes for your last 2 weeks of flowering. Just plain water for last 2 weeks of growing so it flushes the nutes out for clean and smooth burning.

Do you mix up the 15-30-15 stuff in a 4 gallon jug too? I like chemical tastes I think they get me higher. Can I opt to increase fertilization near the end?

yes... I do it up in a 4 gallon jug too. I wouldnt boost it up as you dont want to nute burn them but you could feed them nutes right to end if ya like. Reason to flush last 2 weeks is so your smoke will burn. if to much nutes in it it wont burn and if abit of nutes still in it your smoke will burn but it will taste funny and snap crackle and pop and burn funny too.
check out my grow and see how I did for my first time. I didnt put this on my grow up the last 2 weeks I fed them water with dark corn syrup. 1 tbl spoon to 4 gallons. I think it made the buds even more juicy. I have clones so Im gonna try 1 with and 1 without on next run here to see difference.

What is nute burning? Sometimes I've bought weed and it was very very smelly and tasted like chemicals. I like that effect.

How much water do you give em? Do you give em the same ammount of water on the fertilizing days. It should be ok to just water them once right cuz I'm gonna keep them in my crawl space and crawl in there when everyone goes to sleep.

depends on the size of pots your growing in. my first grow was just 5" tall pots and I watered them every 2nd day. Nute burning is if you give them to much fertilizer the leave will burn from it. Nute lock as some say, to much will make the roots not take any. The way around that is to flush your soil. Youll learn in time. just look and ask for advice on here like ya are and ppl will help. And chemical smell and taste doesnt usually come from nutes. Thats probably the strain itself.

I'm gonna get ph test strips in case the PH drops below 7. Then Ill stop fertilzing. Does that make sense?

to tell ya the truth... I couldnt tell ya much on the ph because I dont do it. Hopefully someone else jumps in here and gives ya some more advice. I do have a ph test pkg but havent used it yet. I was told not to worry to much as we have some of the best water in the world so. :)

ph at 7 is way too high. Cannabis thrives in ph in soil from...i think it was 5.8 to 6.5. I know jorge said 6.5. I would test what the ph your water is w/o anything else, test it with the fertilizer and then test the run off as well. Tbh if it's actually chemicals that you're tasting you're getting high because it's poison to your body. Same thing happens when you drink.

nono... thats not it with ph.... its the matter of keeping it in the proper range. doesnt mean ya have to stop. youll have to ajust your ph level. cant remember what ya can use around the house to bring it up or down again.

Baking soda and vinegar. I think baking soda is a base so it would make the ph rise. I'd look up exactly which one does which though. Not sure about the measurement either.

Well I am correct in assuming that fertilizing lowers the ph. So if the fertilizer is in the soil and the ph is low, then I could probably just start adding regular water until the ph balances out again. Do you think its good to have a bunch of different chemicals in the soil?
