Hey new here and to growing MJ. Did alot of reading on doing a scrog method and started about 8 seeds I had from some good weed. 4 sprouted and 3 turned male. veg under 600watt MH

The plants on the right ended up being male. Used 10 gal. smart pots with a mix of fox farm ocean forest, coco coir, earthworm castings, perlite, vermiculite and MG organic. I was skeptical about the MG but seems to be ok with the organic naturals.

Now I'm at week 3 of flower, 600 Watt HPS this is my first grow ever and I am really excited at this point. Hope she looks ok. I planned on having more than 1 in here but at least she seems to be doing good. Really hoping she packs on some weight but if not thats ok. She covers about a 3ft by 3ft area.

Let me know what you think, any tips welcome on how to get increased yield. This is my first grow so I really dont know what to expect. Been using Fox farms nutes.

everything looks good, don't fuck with it. don't bring any filthy animals or people around there, and put on some clean clothes if you go to work in there if you were outside.

So today I am going to water, is it normal to need to water every 2 to 3 days. When I first put her in the 10 gallon I only needed to water like once a week at most. I feed with 2 1/2 gallons and water with 3 gallons, alternating feed, water, feed, water. Pot is a 10 Gallon smart pot. Just want to make sure I don't over-water during her last few weeks. I cannot pick up the pot due to the scrog net so I am just curious whether this is about normal or not.

when you first put a plant in a bigger pot, the roots haven't expanded to fill the available space yet, and it takes longer for the soil to dry out, as the roots expand and the plant grows, it will take more water than it did when first transplanted, sounds perfectly normal to me.

Thanks, just worried I will over water, seems to be the first mistake newbies make.

Looks really Nice man! I am about to run my first Run Scrog . How long did you veg for ? How many times did you top her?
I veg for 4 or 5 weeks, I was waiting for it show sex before putting a net over her. I only topped 2 times, but I also super cropped her.

Unfortunately I believe that she is a herm. Im pretty pissed

ahh sorry to hear, my first grow I had 4 nirvana seeds bubblicious growing in 10 gallon smart pots and ended up dropping something on one when it was about 3 weeks in veg and messed it up bad but doctored it up and kept her going .. then when harvest time came i was reading on what the hell are them little banana things and tuns out it was a hermi ( didnt even notice them until way late) . But i ended up trying to keep it an smoke it but there was way to many seeds and made some bubble hash. you can all ways always keep them bananas before they open and cross pollinate with your future females and when ever you have a female that produces them bananas an pollinate a female plant all the seeds it will produce will be female.. so i have read !

yeah, thats exactly how they do it, except they use colloidal silver to force a female to turn hermi. not sure if it will work properly with a natural hermi as one set of genes, may keep producing more herms. the reason it works with the colloidal silver is the plant they are forcing has pure female genetics, not sure if thats the case with a natural.

Greatly appreciate the info, makes sense when you explain it like that .Never even heard of colloidal silver . Just searched it thats awesome!! https://www.420magazine.com/forums/seeds-clones-and-strains/153838-how-use-colloidal-silver-produce-feminized-seeds.html I was wondering how that works with genetics and cross pollination.I still think its pretty amazing what you can achieve with all the main lining , LST and like cross pollinating to get some amazing herb.
