Newbie starting first grow EVER in AeroGarden

Ok so after doing lots of reading and plenty of research, my guy and I think we are finally ready to continue with the grow. This will be our FIRST attempt at this. We are gettin ready and will probably start this weekend. I will provide updates on this thread with pics a couple times a week for advice and critisism.

Items I plan on purchasing:

AeroGarden PRO 200 (PRO has 50% more light than other models)

Lowryder 2 feminized seeds(heard best seeds and strain for this setup). Can someone please refer me to a good online retailer that is safe and discreet, or if anyone has some for sale, let me know. I figured these because the seem fool-proof as long as you take care of it. They auto-flower, and I dont have any experience detemining and pulling out male plants.

A small fan

PH kit

Air Pump with airstone

Will additional CFL lighting as soon as flowering begins

This is my first "experiment" ever. I dont know much about growing as most people on this site, but there is lots of knowledge to look up and read on.

I am not trying to make money off this.

I know I will not get much yield.

This is for personal consumption.

i would go with the aerogarden deluxe and also would use the attitude seed bank...very fast and discreet

I was in the same position as you, total newbie and was looking at buying Aerogarden, In the end I opted to build my own very simple setup. It may have cost a bit more cash but i think i made the best move.

My own personal reason for first wanting to use the Aerogarden was becuase i was a total newb and thought the AG would take away alot of the hassle.

Having done shit loads of research (mainly on this site) i have now got 4 females growing - and doing really well.

My main concern with the AG was would it be able to produce enough bud for me and the Mrs. We smoke 5-6 joints a night between us. Not sure on actual weight but i dont think the Ag could keep me in constant Bud.

Its really not hard to grow our beloved weed. To be honest, once you got the basics its pretty easy really.

Sounds like a good plan to me, except you are missing 2 things:

You are going to need a figure 8 power cord and a light timer.


Also,
You should pick up a thermostat/humidity monitor at walmart for like $8.

While you are there, you can pick up some mylar for under $5 too.

Ok so I'm now ready to purchase seeds online. I'm still unsure about it tho. I know to not ship to grow address. Use prepaid credit card to purchase. My guy is thinking bout getting a PO box. Is it safe? Any hints or tips?? I am thinking about going through attitude seed bank, but then I hear not to go through seed banks. What to do????

I just started looking and it looks like the Attitude seed bank has good reviews. That's what we had in mind.

Yea, i havnt ordered online, but if i did, thats probably where i would go, if you look at the top threads, or "sticky's" there is a guide on a good and safe way to order, i think by a guy named mane

We are pretty much ready to being, all thats left is to get some seeds, but we taking care of that tomorrow. I uploaded a couple pics of my grow closet.

Couldnt find any Mylar, so instead went with windshield sun blocker.

Still need to purchase additional lighting

Yea, dr. c didn't pull through for me either, never got charged for the seeds though.
