Hello all, the first thing i must say is what an excellent web site this is. It has already given me so much information that i feel confident to grow my own.

here's a brief description of my set up.

Budda XL grow tent
600 watt hps light
1x 4" tt100 fan and carbon filter and roof tile extraction
1x 4" tt100 roof tile inlet
2x 8 pot wilma kits
with clay pellets and coco pro with canna feeds.
2x water heaters to make sure the water dont drop ive got it set to 22*?!?
here's a quick pic of my set up which ive just installed tonight
ive got the wilma drip arrows on for 1x15 mins each hour just to keep it moist before i plant my little ones and then i will change the settings with the help of you lot!

i took a ph reading tonight and its 6.5 in each tank? i dont know if i should lower the ph alittle? any info would be gladly appreciated.

these are my little ones that ive grown from seeds and have been in the grow garden with 24/7 light but im just going to start 19/5 tonight to get them use to the hours before i put them in the tent as that is what i will be growing them at under the hps.

these are all 2 weeks old
2 x dutch passion green spirit
2 x nirvana seeds wonder women
2 x g13 skunk no 1's
7 x ch9 green bud
3 x bubba kush

im hoping to plant them into the coco friday night, do you think my plants are big enough to go into veg state?

Hi RSJAY

welcome to RIU

One thing i would mention is whether you have done a cycle test of your environment?

To check temps and humidity etc.

Other than testing your setup looks pretty good.

Did you say that you had a fan intake at the top of your tent???

You should have this somewhere near the bottom to bring in cooler air as you could end up bringing straight back in the air you are exhausting..

Also with your exhaust are you ducting it to anywhere or just blowing it into the room where your tent is?

If this is the case you may want to duct it out of your room with your tent into it.

I vent my single 600w straight into my attic through my closet.

J

P.S i too am a UK grower.

You may also find that the 600w is not enough light for 16 plants.

a friend of mine has recently grow 24 plants with 3 600's and 4 125w CFL side lights.

So you may want, in the not too distant future, to increase the number of your lights.

I am not saying that its impossible, you just might find that it is not enough light. I grow 4 plants at a time with a single 600w.

Sorry for clogging your thread with help.

another single 600w and spread them 8 plants each.

If you can pick yourself up some URBAN GARDEN MAGAZINES wherever you see them. They are like my grow bibles. Nothing about MJ in them but plenty of tips.

So far i have collected around 6 of the mag's and ive only been growing since Xmas09 lol

Something else you may want to consider is getting a bigger fan for the exhaust the normal thing to do is to over ventilate your grow room. Everyone puts a bigger fan as the exhaust and a lower m/3 fan as intake to create some negative pressure. Be carefull how big you go for your exhaust or you could have your tent folding in from the pressure being too much.

Definately do some testing while you have the time as temps are your main concern.

thankfully you have setup your grow room during the summer time which i didnt i setup in winter so i had to completely redesign my growing closet to allow for the increase in ambient temps outside etc.

If you want to ask anything else i will always give my answer based on either knowledge that i have or experience if i have it. If i dont have it i will generally try and find the answer for you.

Something else i always warn new growers about is PESTS.

Make sure you have a PMP in place before you start to use your tent. (Pest management program)

I personally use the following things.

NEEM REPEL
PEST OFF
SPINOSAD
HOT SHOTS NO PEST STRIPS
STICKY TRAPS both YELLOW and BLUE
and as a last resort
MINI FORTEFOG SMOKE BOMBS.

Might be an idea. Unless you have the light on some kind of runner it doesn't look like it will cover all 16 of the plants adequately.

Oh and Subbed.

ive just had the system on test for an hour and the temp is running 86 degrees f and 52% humidity, is that ok for 2 week old plants?

ideally you want your canopy level temps at 82.4F/28C

Ideally under 80F/26.7C

make sure you test for a full 18/6 cycle recording max/min levels.

1hour is not enough. the lamp will heat up more

ballast located outside your tent will help a little.

when you get another 600w you might want to look into cooltubes or similar as 2 lights = more heat.

Hi ya rsjay & Welcome to Riu mate :)

Im looking forward to watching this grow as you seem to be doing everything right so far research and setting up ... So im subscribing to this and hope you keep us updated with your progress :)

One thing that does jump out at me a bit is access ....you might struggle a bit to get in and out of that tent for pruning when your in flower ... looks a bit to compact ... could just be the cam angle but you may want to think about that in advance .

Jondamon is a Very cool guy and your lucky to have him to guide you ... Pick his brains ..ask lots of questions and he will put you right  kiss-assHello Jon :P

Good luck with this grow and i look forward to seeing the end results :)

V :peace:

ps ..also in the UK bongsmilie

cheers boys for the info, you were right the temp did creep up alittle after a few hours, im just connecting my cold outdoor air inlet up ready for a test tomos, i will also test it with 2 lights as ive bought another 600w lamp today.
the tent is pretty cramp in there to be honest but i was just going to lift the plants out to do the odd bit of pruning when the time comes.
Ive had the drippers working last night and today 15 mins every 12 hours and the coco feels damp to the touch so im guessing that will be ok, 2 x 15min feeds aday? i know this may change once the plants are using it but i dont want to over feed them while their young.

unsure about drippers as i hand water.

you want to watch how your girls are drinking then adjust.

You got ph meter and EC meter ?

also dont forget to test for a full 18/6 cycle not just a few hours. After every change you make you should test. ive had countless nights testing without any sleep as i run 18/6 starting at 6pm through til midday and i run 12/12 from 6pm to 6am.

TESTING SUCKS BUT MUST BE DONE

it tests the electrical conductivity of your nutes (how strong they are)

I run my IONIC COCO NUTES at EC1.5

if you check your nute bottles it will say an EC value to shoot for.

your dripper system has a resovoir right? how you gonna measure the strength of your nutes?
