That is a nice start, any ideas on the age and height of those 2 biggest ones. What you are doing is working just fine, those look like nice healthy plants. VV

Not bad considering the shape they were in when you got them. Constantly improving your plants enviroment is what you want, keep it up. VV

Great grow so far. Your doing great. Keep up the good work, and before you know it, it will be time to flower. Watching the buds grow is the best part I think.

Awesome, you are well on your way to some premo buds!

I will be following your grow. Your way ahead of mine. I am still at the seedling stage. The biggest one is starting to get its second set. Watching them grow, then bud is so awesome, but sometimes its just hard to wait for them to be done. But in the end, its all worth it. Keep up the good work!

Hey bro,

Wow, that one in the second pic...to the left is really taking off huh? I have one that is outgrowing all the others also. I can't wait til they reach the size of the ones you got in that pic.

Yeah, when your new at growing, advice always helps. I started growing at the age of 16, I am 25 now, so I have some experience.

Will you be topping your plants? From the look of your pics, looks like 2 are ready to be topped. Now sure if you know about topping, but what it does, is instead of having one main stalk, and one main top/bud, you will have two. If you veg really long, like I use to do, I would top them about 3 times, and it would be so bushy, and the buds on it would be crazy. Talking about 6 tops!

I am not working with alot of space, so I will only top once or twice if the space allows me. But all of my plants will be topped. Not sure if you know how to do it, but its really easy. Follow the main stock up to the top, on the top, where the new set of leaves will come out (the new top growing from your top) what you do is take a sharp razor, and cut it right off. That will make it grow 2 new tops.

Its actually better for people who do not have much space as in height wise. When you top them, they will be bushier/shorter than if you did not top them. And instead of having just one huge main bud, you will have several. I like to keep my plants shorter/bushier. They seem to be easier to maintain, and ofcourse product bigger, fatter buds.

If this is your first grow, and do not want to attempt anything to severe, then just let mother nature take its course. But when I was learning to grow, I grew one plant as my experimental plant, and the others I would just let grow without messing with em. After getting it down with the experimental plant, on your next grow you can do it to all your plants

I am not sure if you already know all this. I am not sure if this is your first grow, or your experience level, but if you didn't know about topping, now you do. If you have any questions, feel free to mail me, or ask it here.

Also, I gave you some rep!

No journal. I have no cam to take pics. I am hoping for Xmass I will get one. And bye that time, I should be about ready to start flowering soon, so the cam will come at the exciting part.

I have subscribed to you, and will keep in touch, when I get my cam for Xmass hopefully, and get some pics up, you will be one of the first people to know.

Take care bro!

Damn, I just wrote you a whole crap load, and it didnt go through. I basically asked if you were topping your plants, then told you about the process, how to top, and what it does for your plants. Maybe you already know how to top though.

Also said, I don't have a journal because I don't have a cam. I plan on getting a cam for Xmass, and then I will start a journal. At that time, I should be ready to flower, or very close to it, so it will be starting at a interesting time. I was thinking of starting a pictureless journal, and let people know the pics will come around Xmass, but I might just wait until I have the camera, and start a late journal.

I will be following your grow. I subscribed and gave you some rep. I will try to give you rep again if it lets me. Keep up the good work, and if you need any advice, feel free to ask. I started growing at age 16, I am 25 now, so I have some experience. I am always willing to help a fellow grower.

If you don't know much about topping, I can explain it again if you like. Sucks I wrote it all out and the post did not go through :(

Give your girls some love for me! Keep up the good work :weed:

kratose- this is my frist grow i have no experience i read what u said about topping and another person on here i know gave me a pic on what it should look like

so i topped 6 of the plants i hope correctly ill put up a pic of what i did, should be getting a heater today or tomorrow.

i also have a fish tank in my house that is in a spare bedroom so today i was filling it back up and thought maybe i should move this downstairs with the plants it looses aout 5 gallons of water every10-14 days so why not try to help the plants and bump up the humidity in there somemore i also need to put plastic or mylar on the wall in the room so none of it leaves the rooom in the frist place

the pics are my version of what i hope was topping a plant the right way before and after pic

Yup! Thats topping. Those pics show it perfectly. Its easier to show with a pic than it is to explain. But its very easy. Its kinda like chomping the head off of the plant, then it grows two new heads. Thats a easy way to explain.

So this is your first grow huh? Well you have my support and help and I am sure many other members here will help you too. I am kinda new to this site, but everyone is really helpfull, and I would like to help as much as possible.

I am sure you will do a great job on topping your plants. I have faith in ya! I really have to admit, if you never said you were new at growing, and I seen those pics, I would think you have done this before. I think the first grow is always a special one, even if your plants dont make it to the flowering stage, you learn from your mistakes, and the next time you avoid the mistakes you made.

That is a great idea you have about your fish tank, it will really help the humidity. I have a snake, a python, and he requires high humidity, so I have my plants near his cage, and they get the humidity too. Its really easy to create a great inviorment for your plants, and you got a great idea, Hell, even a small little bowl with water will help create humidity.

One thing I am concerned about with your grow, is your lights. At the early stage, you can get away with skimping on the lights, but when they are 1-2ft tall, and you have 3-4 plants, you need optimal lighting.

I suggest getting a HPS light to add to what you have. They have one for 25.00. Its 150 watts HPS. I will get you the link. http://www.e-conolight.com/Product/EProductDetail.asp?ProductFamilyID=7&FGNumber=E-MT6H151G

Your plant will love this light, especially during the flowering stages. This is what I am using.....a 150W HPS, a 175W HPS, 100W Light for extra warmth, and 2 fluero shop lights. Right now I am just using the 2 shop lights that are very very close to my plants to avoid stretching, then I have the 100W Light for warmth, it has that metal dome around it too for even better effective lighting. I will use just this for another week. Then I will add the 150W HPS and keep that on them untill flowering time. Once I change to 12/12 I will add the other 175W HPS.

Also, I would get the mylar. Its excellent for reflecting and shoudln't ever create any hotspots that can burn your plant. And if you can't get that, just use white paint. Its not the best, but it will reflect light better than nothing.

Once your plants start making the 2 new tops after you topped, Id love to see a pic. I think your doing great, and my knowledge is at your disposol.

And I bet I even learn a new thing or two from you. Now matter how long you have grown, you can always learn something new, even from someone who just started growing.

Keep it up bro! Happy Growing.....Puff...Puff...Passes it to you!

Hey bro,

First off, what type of light are you using? I just got my 250W HPS in yesterday, used it and the plants started really responding to it. I was just gonna use it for flowering stage, but couldnt resist trying it. So I have the 250W HPS with some extra CFL's for backup, I also am getting another 150HPS light. Plan to add that during flowering. They have them for 20.00USD and it comes with the ballast and all. http://www.e-conolight.com/Product/EProductDetail.asp?ProductFamilyID=7&FGNumber=E-MT6H151G

600W hps? Wow, how much plants you plan on having. My 250W HPS lights up my whole bedroom nevermind my growspace. Also You will be spending a pretty penny if you buy a 600W HPS at a hydroponics store.

For Nutes.

I would go for something like.....Veg NPK 20 10 10 Flowering NPK 10 20 20

In the veg stage your plant needs more Nietrous, in the flowering stage it needs more P and K

Its hard to find the exact numbers at a local hydroponic shop. At least mine is, so try to get something as close as possible. Or, try to get the ones that say. For Veg...And for Bloom. They will have bottles specifilly for Veg and Bloom.

I had a werid seedling sprout up. It came up with no leafs. It only has the 2 nubs. Usually it has them, and the 2 small leafs. This one didn't. Pretty werid. All the rest do.

My biggest one has its second set of leafs now...And the next biggest is starting its second set

i have a 48inch 8 bulb t5 which i hear is great for flowering and would work fine for flowering but i would like to have a harvest every month and i would need 2 lights to do that anyway so im leaning on the 600 maybe 1000 whos knows, there not that muhc $ on ebay there are things i need to do to my room frist anyway also alot to learn

so when you getting camera x mas?
if you dont end up getting one go on craigslist.com there will be used ones for cheap real cheap

right now it is one day at a time, i really hope i dont get any pest at all i have a strip down there to catch them but i havnt seen anything in the trap so i dunno

Yeah bro, your plants will really love the HPS lights for flowering. 600 - 1000watt would be really nice. You would be able to grow a decent amount of plants. I guess I should check ebay. What type of prices you looking at for a 600Watter? Does it come with the ballast and all?

Yeah, I should be getting one for xmass. craigslist, thats a awesome idea, thanks. If I don't get one, I will make sure to check that out.

Thats the best way to do it, one day at a time. My biggest has its 2nd set of leafs in, they are getting bigger, and the next biggest just got the 2nd set in, but they are still really small. But since I added the 250W HPS light they have been growing faster, they really seem to respond to that light. I also am using a CFL Shop Light for some extra lighting.

Keep up the good work....Puff...Puff...Passes it to you
