News article released this morning from the New York Post reports star Dallas Cowboys NFL player David Irving quits in protest regarding the league policy on medical marijuana -- see link below. He quits in star-like fashion by firing up a big ol' fatty and posting a social media video real-time. He explains that he considers marijuana a medication and refuses to take xanax benzodiazepines, hydrocodone pain pills, seroquel anti-depressants...
Dallas Cowboys has responded that they will not continue his contract after his status is changed to unrestricted free agent this off-season.
While the NFL has a "zero tolerance" policy on cannabis, other leagues such as the NHL / hockey does not consider marijuana a banned substance.
