no i did not mean 3 hours to 1 hour i mean 3 minutes to 1 minute or 6 minutes and 2 minutes, like 3 to 1 but not long times, the pump should never be on for an hour straight, your just making your roots way to wet if they dont have time to dry you may have problems, i have had people run pumps almost 24 7 and as long as the water is spraying out with enough oxygen they never have problems, its all about putting the right sprayers in, i use the 360 sprayers now the ones that spin while they run but the 180 sprayers work very well too, i usually use as many as i can drill into the pvc, unless u buy some pre made bullshit, but i personally advice making it a DIY project and doing eveything yourself, you can do it BETTER AND for cheaper so why waste your time paying someone 300 bucks to put your shit together when you can go to home depot and for 100 bucks you can get everything you need plus more and put it all together yourself which isusually not really that hard, good luck friend

Hi, just my 2 penny's, i'm pretty new to growing myself, running the nft gt205, everywhere i read about nft technique before i started said it was best to leave the pump on 24/7, the roots will develop 'air roots' from what i've read, the roots in the solution will take up nutrients and it will create smaller roots for taking in air, in the small tank the roots WILL grow into the tank, iv'e got an air-stone in my res just to keep the water aerated plenty, a lot of people say run the pump on a timer or for not long, i gave that a try and the plants ended up drooping looking seriously hungry, when the pump is on constantly they look quite healthy and perky, so i just carried on with what seemed to work, not saying timer is in-correct but this is just another view on things from reading up on nft.
