Dude's a nut. No tether, no net. 1400 feet across and higher up than the empire state building is tall. Pretty fucking nuts.

(Reuters) - Daredevil Nik Wallenda, confident but with his heart pounding, will take a step onto a high wire stretched taut over the yawning chasm of the Grand Canyon on Sunday in a death-defying crossing that will be broadcast live around the world.
"Sunday is go time, and that's when the adrenaline kicks in and ... before you know it, it's all over," Wallenda, smiling and looking relaxed in jeans and a T-shirt, told reporters at a news conference before the challenge.
The self-described "King of the High Wire," Wallenda plans to walk a 2-inch diameter steel cable rigged across a remote section of the crimson-hued Grand Canyon with nothing but the Little Colorado River more than a quarter mile below.
The 1,400-foot (426.7 meter) walk will be the highest tightrope attempt ever for the 34-year-old, at a height greater than the Empire State Building. The walk will be carried live on the Discovery Channel starting at 5 p.m. PT (midnight GMT), with a 10-second time delay.

He walked over Niagra Falls recently. They made him wear a wire but he didn't need it. The spray from the huge amounts of water going over the Falls didn't even do this guy in. He's super inot the big J.C., which although I don't subscribe can totally understand with what he does. It's generational for the man, daredevils go back a couple generations in the circus I beileve.

I'll watch if its on television.

I remember back in the 70's one of the Wallendas possibly this dudes grandfather was killed when he attempted to walk between two skyscrappers it was windy and he tried to kneel down to regain his stability and he just fell no net no tether and back then they didnt cut away they showed him falling all the way to the ground below.....the law of averages will catch up to him at some point and I bet he will be thinking as he is falling to his death why he didnt just get a regular job.

He already did it, didn't he? Can't beleive he didn't die.... Him and his family are crazy.... Dudes grandfather died doing some crazy shit like he's doing and him and his mom decided to walk across on opposite ends (therefore passing each other somehow) where his grandfather died.... no net/tether and he looked like he was going to fall about 3 times. People are crazy yo.
