I agree. Just because someone is growing for the first time doesn't mean that they don't know what good smoke is. It's my first grow but I can definitely tell that it is going to be some fire.

I was nervous to try Barney's farm gear thanks to threads on this site, but made a decision to try breeder's for myself and got some Dr Grinspoon and about half way through flowering I'm happy. Hope it's as potent as they say. I refuse to knock anything until I try it because as you stated, "I might miss out on some really good strains!"

My Barney's girls are kicking ass they were freebies too..........

I got a pack of nirvana nl regs about 10 years ago and i would pop a couple sometimes,got 8 hermies out of the 10pack gave one away and other i could not get to sprout,,all the other plants in my grows were cool only the nirvanas did this',,,i think mr nice has a master kush also''' ive had some luck from sannies,sometimes seeds seem old and immature though on a few of there strains

Thank you kindly for that. Interestingly enough, it looks like my Wonder Woman will finish before my Northern Lights. Nearly 40% of her hairs have turned red. I can't hold the pocket microscope steady enough to look through it and my jewelers loupe just isn't getting me zoomed in enough. I am thinking that I will wait till its week is finished then start flushing WW for a week or two? Any advice would be very welcomed guys. Thanks

Flushing is a hotly debated topic..I do the water only route on my organics so no flushing there, but I DO flush my coco room (AN Line) I personally am disinterested in taking the chance of smoking chems for cancer, BUT that's just my opinion not based in fact...plants will eat till the day they are chopped some believe they get a lil more by feeding till the end...I like the color contrasts when it starts eating itself, very photogenic that way! I know a couple "tricks" that might help you get a good view of your trichs....take your camera smart phone, zoom it in to its max....then this is the really technical part...take a magnifying glass and move it out from the camera lens on your phone till you get a nice clean picture, will give you a good look at the trichs....good luck man!

I grew WW a few times starting out back in the day, mine were yielders for sure, and had a good sweet skunky smell...smoke was more daytime but it was alright!

Thank you, Phatlewtz. I'm going to try that trick with my camera right now. Do you think it odd that my WW seems like it is going to be finished before the Northern Lights?

When I grew her i think I went 65 days, but that was forsure too long. Based on experience no flush give nutes all the way until harvest just more diluted towards the end and yeild will be much higher. Proper dry/cure will give you the smoothness you want don't starve your dogs right before the race begins

Right one was my wonder woman she had some donkeys lol

Not really, i've had plants finish in 42 days and some that went 140 (extremes) phenotype and environment play a key...

what? it doesn't take a master grower to know that just because something looks or smells like fire doesn't mean it is going to give you a good buzz. Haven't you ever smoked some bud that looked great and smelled dank but the buzz only lasts for an hour?

What's that old american phrase? don't judge a book by its cover. And try not to automatically think after the first time you smoke your own bud that it is "the best shit ever".

smoking chems for cancer? definitely not based on any facts, unless you're growing for philip morris.

Eating itself means it has to go through deficiencies in order to maintain its integrity and health and vigor.

AN sucks and costs too much.

That's a great point you have there. I've absolutely been disappointed by some herb that had an insane smell/look. I actually removed some lower branches to make room in my tent. I smoked some of that herb and was totally baked and it lasted for hours. This wasn't taken from anywhere but where I said I got it. Not really sure why you would assume that I was going to think that after smoking my first grow that I'd think it is the best shit ever. Somebody else that is a member of this forum may have done that but I am not them. I've smoked plenty of dank, I've also smoked medical buds from CO. That should give me a pretty good barometer. I don't know you personally and you may have grown what to you is average but to me might be the best shit ever. That doesn't mean that everything I've ever smoked is dog shit. I sampled a popcorn bud that wasn't getting much light anyways... and I personally thought it was pretty fire. I might not have as much experience growing as some other people on this forum... but I've smoked bud for over 20 years. I'd ask for a little bit of credit when it comes to smoking and being able to tell the potency.
