Nirvana White Rhino Smoke/Grow Report

Strain: White Rhino from Nirvana, ordered through the attitude. Website says F1 hybrid of White Widow and a "powerful north american indica"
Growth: 10/10 germinated, 1 was culled at a young age for being way behind the rest. 5 males, 4 females.
I would say this strain has an average amount of growth rate. Not really fast or slow. There is a fairly large variation in the phenotypes. 2 plants had narrower leaves and a longer internodal distance, 2 had more of an indica dominance in growth. (these are my keepers)
Fairly quick to clone.
The first couple weeks of flower showed a fair bit of stretch (athough i'm not seeing it as much on the tables)
The buds grow in wide, solid, spiralling towers that have a nice blanket of trichomes.
Nutes: Holland Secret 3 part.
Yield: right around 3/4 oz per plant, not bad considering they were chopped up for clones right before flower. The true test shall be on the Ebb and flow tables(where all them clones went), only a few weeks left on those. Goody goody!
Bag Appeal: Pretty damn good, it's white rhino.
Smell: All through flower i wasn't that impressed with the smell, kind of plastic-ey if you know what i mean. However in the last couple weeks of its life it developed a very pungent lemon/citronella odour. Very good. My girlfriend says it smells like juicyfruit gum, i can see where shes coming from.
Taste: Not too bad, very sweet and lemony with a small amount of expansion in the lungs. I haven't had time for a full 3 month cure, but after a couple weeks it tastes pretty damn good. There is a bit of a hashy taste on the exhale that leaves your mouth watering for more.
The High: Not quite what i expected. I've always heard tales of the ass kicking, narcotic, super stoney body high of white rhino (aka medicine man). Well there is definitely more to it than that. Right off the bat it puts a nice buzz in your head with a feeling of euphoria that eventually does evolve into a strong body stone. Gave me the giggles. There is a bit of a burnout, but nothing too drastic.
I wouldn't call this an ideal daytime smoke, but a fat joint of the WR before a movie/concert/anything (and maybe a couple during) will certainly make it alot better.
Comments: I have to admit I was really skeptical of nirvana, how could their genetics be as good as breeders who charge 5 times more. Well overall i'm fairly impressed. It took a full pack of seeds to find a decent mother, but i found a mother so i can't complain.
I'm really impressed with how well this strain is doing 12/12 from clone on the hydro tables. Has some serious SOG potential!!! If you want a strain with some fat, frosty nugs with a pleasant taste and an indica dominant hybrid high, this might be the strain for you.
I'm still thinking i'm gonna try greenhouses Rhino and maybe Serious' Russian just for compairisons sake. All in good time.

Heres the ebb and flow packed with WR

Nice bushy growth with branching that begs to be cloned.

Job well done, time to reward myself. :joint:

Just a little update on the ebb and flow.

I've definitively picked a mother. The kids from that line are performing like true champions on the table.

Sweet juicy buds Batman! Looks great :)

A couple ?'s for you, if you don't mind.

- What is the average height from seed? From clone?
- Veg time before the flip?
- How similar/dissimilar were each plant you grew from seed? ( I don't want to grow out a ton of seeds to find a good mother)
- Did you have a big difference in yield per different pheno?
- The plants on the table appear to be single cola women. Is this true or are they bushy?
- What is the smell factor?

Thanks in advance. I am really looking into these for my next run. +rep as well

What is the average height from seed? From clone?
The girls from seed finished up at about 3 1/2 feet. From clone they range from 6'-12"
- Veg time before the flip?
about 6 weeks from seed, took a dozen some odd clones each right before moving them to the flower room.
My clones go straight into 12/12 as soon as they have roots.
- How similar/dissimilar were each plant you grew from seed? ( I don't want to grow out a ton of seeds to find a good mother)
I found 2 unique phenotypes. One taller and lankier, harder to clone, not quite as impressive.(some would call this the sativa pheno, however despite the fact that i like sativas it didn't really do it for me.) The other was much more vigourous with fatter, frostier buds. It wasn't really a tough decision to make as to which was the keeper.
I'd say if you put 5 seeds in the ground you would come up with something worth keeping.
- Did you have a big difference in yield per different pheno?
Pretty big. On my ebb and flow, the good pheno came out with about double the yield per plant as the throw away.
- The plants on the table appear to be single cola women. Is this true or are they bushy?
You are correct. Single cola sea of green.
- What is the smell factor?
Not too bad. They smell real nice, but not crazy strong. Pretty much every other strain i run smells more than this one.
Thanks in advance. I am really looking into these for my next run. +rep as well
No worries. I say do it. Its an easy to grow, powerful plant that produces some really nice bud.

Good luck and happy growing.

Thanks man. Very good report. I'm growing some white rhino and have had the same conclusions. I had 2 differnt phenotypes, one a bit lanky and testy at times, and one that was very bushy with tight node spacing and seemed to take anything you threw at her. Yeild has been a big question on my mind and feel better now that you got 3/4 off one plant, put into flower right after cloning.

It does not like the nutes. I was watering with nutes every other watering and some seemed to not like it. So now I water with nutes every third watering. Thanks again!

Hey Zeus excellent report. I got 2 questions for you how big is your SOG table and how many watts are you using?

Here is the scene in my house as of a few days ago. 15 rhinos worked out to 165g dry. Works out to exactly 11 grams per plant avg. I'd imagine with a little tweekeing and some healthier clones i can get a half per easily.

Had great luck with the White Rhino from Nirvana. Not every plant is a winner, but it only takes one really good one.
