Nit Picking on Obama

There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.

OH OH I know who said that! It was that one guy who said he came from Texas, but was really from Massachusetts, oh its right on the tip of my brain. His daddy was somebody important too.

It figures that when Obama fucks up in a major way, some moron brings up something Bush said without missing a beat.

Bush didn't even screw up that saying - he intended to modify it. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice - well, you can't fool me twice. Perfectly good statement that makes perfectly good sense spun into something it was not. That is the way of the Left. Perhaps his delivery was off but the line was solid.

Anyway, this is not about Bush, it's about Obama, and the fact that the fucking Commander in fucking Chief does not know how to pronounce a common word that every average American should know is pathetic - these are the men he leads into combat for crying out loud. How exactly does someone graduate from Harvard law, become a Senator and then president not knowing how to pronounce the word Corpsman? This is a National embarrassment and proof that this President is woefully unqualified to hold this position. And, it is a slap in the face to our military.

Inexcusable!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, in his defense....he is able to pronounce nuclear and multi-syllabic words, which is a big improvement on his predecessor. But sure, it's irrelevant that we had a fratboy running the country for 8 years because our current president made a rare gaffe while speaking. Jeez, I guess we have no choice but to impeach teh guy.

The p in corps in always silent. It is also usually a military term. Obama loathes the military so it makes sense he has probably seldom heard the word spoken. Also he is an idiot.

at least this thread is properly titled. i can't say i really care about the mispronunciations of every presidential speech. after eight years of listening to bush saying "nucular", my ear has become pretty much immune to the grammatical errors of our leaders. i'm certainly not going to rag on brak for every minor faux pas in the multitude of speeches we have been forced to endure over the last year and will probably be listening to for the next three. i couldn't care less whether our president appears erudite in these meaningless photo ops. it doesn't even really matter how intelligent our commander in chief is, as long as his message is honest and in line with the american ethos. choosing our leaders based on appearance and manner is what led us to the sorry pass, with leaders whose sole purpose is the growth of government, in the first place. first we wanted a president with the appearance of the common man and we got baby bush, then we wanted a president that appeared to be the smartest man in the room and we got obama. we choose these men for their superficial qualities and then proceed to tear them down for the same sort of frivolous reasons and because they haven't lived up to our super hero expectations. are we ever going to realize that it is not appearance and empty rhetoric that makes a great leader, but a fundamental philosophy? are the american people even capable of picking one course and seeing it through to the end?

Maybe he meant he was going to send more men to become Corpse men? You know "bringing freedom" to foreign lands while using the OTHER side of the Constitution to wipe his ass...the side Bush didn't already soil.

This Obama / Bush back and forth stuff is pretty goofy sometimes, ain't it?

The most interesting aspect of Obama's mispronunciation is the glaring double standard revealed by the MSM coverage (or lack thereof).
I can see the headlines now if Sarah Palin had bumbled the word...the left would be giddy with this "proof" of her inferior erudition.

One thing that really demonstrates a child like mentality is when someone tries to excuse one person's mistake by pointing out the mistake of someone else. This, quite simply, is something a child does.

Bush, is not the issue - Obama is. And not knowing how to properly refer to the men under your command, men who have sworn to lay down their lives for their Country is truly pathetic. By the way, Obama's election was the first in history in which the candidate's military career was not one of the issues of the election.

But I guess the media wanted this well dressed, seemingly articulate light skinned black man to be president and all the little sheep did the in thing and voted for him so I guess we all got what we deserve.

Speaking as a former Corpsman, I am not that offended by his mispronunciation. I do think it's kinda funny that the Commander in Chief doesn't know how to pronounce the word Corpsman but I'll give him a pass on this one.
