Nitrogen and Pests

I did a little test on some in the ground plants the other day, to see if I could do with some additional N. New beds using native soil and amendments, I just wasn't sure.

Days later, on the plants I fed a little extra N to, I found pests had moved in.

Apparently, they're fans of new, and vigorous growth.

So, to help prevent attracting some pests, keep your N at an adequate lecel, but don't feed too much.

I took care of the leaf hoppers by hand. The aphids I hit with water and will just hope their enemies thin them out.

This was on both a Cannabis plant, and a tomato plant.

Had the same thing happen to all 6 of my tomatoes! Started them in February, then babied the shit out of them for months, just to end up as aphid food. I now have 6 dead tomatoe plants.. Had to break down and get some nursery plants.
