Day 41, she is focusing on flowering now. Had to pull her out and tie up the lateral branches, she was bushing out too much. Got a tent on order, should be here Tuesday hopefully, so she will finish it out in that.

No hps, im going for all led right now. New light is roughly 2.5x as intense as the two I have now, same type, but I snagged the new model. We'll see what happens. The 3 combined are rated as 650w hps equiv.

I hated even using a couple cfls because I wanted a pure led grow, but its still pretty close I guess.

ahh cool, go w the more gentle footprint, and lower electricity bill. led s are the only type of light i dont have. somewhere down the line i d like to get some led side lights to put w an induction light inside a tent. good size bucket ur using, should maximize the plant s potential. have u thought about or used any of the teas?

Are those the bulb type of LEDs that I see on the shelf at lowe's, that you are using? If so, how do they line up against the LED panels everyone is using? How long have you been using them? I saw those while I was buying my spiral CFLs, but I didn't think they were the same type that people use for growing.

yea, I have my eye on induction lights as well, I'm waiting for some more smaller units to be released. The only complete standalone I know of is from hydro hut, and it's like 125 bucks for an 80w or something like that, which feels too low for the price. Other than that, tekdc911 has linked some ebay units, but it's mostly the plasma bulbs without hangers and mounts. For me it's all about heat reduction as I am not in a situation where I can vent heat due to location. The bucket is cool, it's a plant warrior pot, it has a cone going the middle of it with holes in it, when the roots reach the holes and hit light, they prune themselves and grow more roots in adjacent areas, so it promotes large root mass. I have considered teas, but I'm still learning in that area, I don't transplant, so I need to find more info on the effectiveness of soil drenching with teas. I do add lots of mycos to the soil mix though. For this NLB, I mixed a generous amount of mycos with the soil mix and when I sowed the seed I sprinkled some in the hole where the seed would go, wet them and dropped the seed on the wet mycos.

Hey, ya, they are household LEDs. I use several, CREE are the best in the industry atm, so I get CREE bulbs when possible.

Atm I use:

Philips 65W Equivalent Daylight (5000K) BR30 LED Flood Light Bulb x2
Cree 60W Equivaent Daylight (5000K) A19 Dimmable LED Light Bulb x8
Cree 65W Equivalent Soft White (2700K) BR30 Dimmable LED Flood Light Bulb x2
Cree 40W Equivalent Soft White (2700K) A19 Dimmable LED Light Bulb x2

Home Depot has an agreement with Cree, and the bulbs are cheaper with Home Depot than anywhere online or in stores. If you try them, hit up Home Depot. Cree has recently released some new 75w equiv bulbs and they are a little better, but still pricey.

I have used LED bulbs for two grows now, and I am very happy with them. The household bulbs function as CFLs would, they have to be close to the plants to be effective, but they put off a little less heat. The heat sink on the bulb still gets hot, but it's not as bad as the hot bulbs on CFLs. The bulbs themselves are coated with some material that keeps them from getting hot which is very nice. I typically veg with a Flood for the first week and then switch to 4x 5000k A19s over head. When the plant starts getting tall enough, I just side light with the rest as needed. I use some panel type LEDs for flowering, but I am gonna pick up more CREE 2700k Floods to side light with.

If you check the LED forum, there is a thread by a guy named Captain Morgan, he has a complete and impressive grow using only household LED and there is some great info there.

My equipment is a little off the beaten path, but it does well for my situation.

Alrighty, here we are at Day 45. Got the tent all set up and my new light finally got here.

2 H150 and 1 H350. Definitely an intensity boost, barely got it setup before the room turned green on me. Tent is totally purped out now heh.

And the NLB, plugging along nicely, got a ways to go tho. Hopefully my Blue Cheese and La Diva finish up soon as I'm thinking the NLB needs another 50 days at least.

I also use cree led. have you checked out the newest ones they have out....these 4-way or whatever....with no heatsink...the chip board acts as a sink I guess, well I picked up a few, and they seem to put out just about the same amount of light, and they are like WAY cooler. I am actually bummed out, cause I JUST spent like almost 200 bucks in bulbs, (the heat sink style) and granted, they are cooler then cfl's, in my enclosed grow box, but these newest ones are WAY cooler, so now I need to replace these NEW bulbs I just got! lol....I have done 2 grows with my current setup, all led cree bulbs, and I get decent yields, I do think however that they do a little bit shotty work on flowering, you get all these buds that look tight, and they look great, but I think with a hps or whatever, they would be tighter I know, but they work, I like them.
what do you think? any one see these newest new ones? any one deal with similar shit?
