Node spacing and LST

Hi,

My plants are about 3 weeks old and looking really green and healthy. I've kept them as close to my 400w hps as i can without burning them and all temps and ventilation are near on perfect (so i've read).

Just a couple of thing confuse me.

First - The node spacing on the plants is really tight. Like so close together that i can barely count them. I plan on LST them but can this be done when u hardly have any space between the nodes to attach ties/hooks???

second - on 1 of them the first true leaves are starting to turn yellow. is this normal after 3 weeks???

I haven't started them on any nutes yet coz i believe the nutes in the soil should keep them for at least 4 weeks.

What are your opinions???

Any help i really am thankful for

mmmm....i am no expert but I think you should be fine with LST as long as you don't over bend it. I just run twine around the stalk/branch that I want to train, then tie it off at the anchor. I don't circle the branch with the twine, just run it around back.

No expert here either but i have been LST'ing a short rider the past week. Just so i can get a couple of clones from it. Just used some bent hard drawn copper wire (laquered stuff) to hold down 2 little side branches. Quite amazing to see them react to getting a little more light. The main stem is a little thick on mine and very tight spacing as well. Think i should have started earlier but i have 2 deffinate side branches now and in a few days they will be 3 inches or so and ok to cut (i hope) The main stem grew at a slant anyway so it was easier to pin the oposite side down.
