I'm looking to get a simple light timer; one to turn on & turn off my lights and my in line fan. I found a Noma light timer with 2 outlets. I was wondering what you guys think of it. Will it do the job? I can't seem to post the link for some reason but if you visit : http://www.canadiantire.ca and type in : "Noma Outdoor Heavy Duty Timer with 2 Outlets" it
should come right up. It's listed for $22.99.

Well....

Since nobody replied to my initial post I thought I'd go out and try said light timer, since it was on sale.

I'm only replying to my own thread to answer the same question others may have had about this timer.

Its a simple timer and it works great! There are 2 three-prong outlets so you can control 2 devices with the same on/off times. The dial is a bit confusing but once you get past that its a decent timer. :)

I ran those 2 outlet digital timers for several grows. You can plug in a MAX of 2 400w per timer, and at that you risk fusing or burning a relay. They are rated for 15amp/1875w resistive. Nothing, I mean nothing, beats an intermatic mechanical timer.

Hey buddy, as Jack says be careful to make sure the timer can handle the amps. I would also recommend getting a contactor to protect the timer from the initial surcharge of hid lighting otherwise it will probably break in no time dependinging on your lights. Good luck.
