Check the daylight length of your area. Timeanddate.com. ---> Sun & Moon

They'll exhibit sex but won't go into full flower mode until the hormones are raised by the shortening length of the day.

They're throw at preflowers but thats only one little calyx with a hair coming out around the possible bud sites. if you see what I call "crowning" just because it looks like the buds are forming a crown, thats the calyx's multiplying and flowering.

They may be trying to flower because you had them in 12/12. You might want to try 18/6 or something like that early in veg, then gradually cutting it back to 14/10 by the time you go outside with them.

What will happen is the hormones that the plant was directing into the growth you cut will now get pushed into side branches, and theoretically you'll get more bud because now you ahve 2 main cola's instead of 2, but i personally do not like topping, I think it fucks with yeilds more than it helps. I prefer LST and Scrog to get the hormones moving to different parts of the branches.

Here in Cali the grow season is over in 10 days, from then on daylight gets shorter.

max daylight here at peak of summer is 14 hours and 41 mins, with 106 F heat

if i placed a clone or plant someone was growing indoor under 18 hours of light out, it will start to flower no matter if its the middle of summer with 100+ heat

I wouldn't say the season is over on the summer solstice. Some of my sativa strains take forever to start flower. And you would gradually cut back the hours of light to match the natural light. You can get at least another month and a half of veg outdoors.

Most plants will continue with vegetative growth well into July so you should have at least 6 more weeks of good veg growth to go this season, with some variability based on strain.
