whats good, a lil new to the growing game, just started some plants about 3 weeks ago in my closet, i started 5 random seeds, just for my first time kinda experimenting, they are running under an 18-6 cycle with a metal alloide (sp?) light, 400 watts, I plan on letting them vegitate for a while and get really big, so far they are doing great, the first pic is about 2 weeks old and the other 2 are from 3-4 weeks (sorry for the shitty iphone pics) ill post some better ones later

yeah i know i love it, i check them out like 3 times a day haha just to make sure theyre doing good, they grow so fast.

the light is a 400 watt Metal Halide with an external ballast, and i have a heat shield thingy over it, i got the best soil they had at the hydroponics store, i havent fertilized yet but i got the brand that the guy at the hydroponics store recomended as well, the lights are currently running at a 18 on 6 off cycle on a timer, i also have a little fan in there too constantly blowing on the plants to strengthen the stems.

how far overhead should i keep the light from the plants? its about 3-4 feet above the plants right now, also what should the temperature be in the closet? how often should i water them? i do it about every 3 days right now, and when should i start fertilizing, thanks in advance for any help!

Nice plants. They could start on nutes. Just start with 1/4 strength and work your way up to full. The height of the light sounds good, just put your hand on top of the plants and feel how hot it is on the back of your hand. You don't want it too far or they will stretch or too close or they will burn or stress. As for watering, I water when they need it. I let them almost dry out between waterings. Then when watering I water them well, using nutes every other watering. Right now with the size you have have, maybe every 4 to 5 days. Let them almost dry out, where the pot is light, before they wilt though, lol. Keep on growing. :mrgreen:bongsmilie:peace:

Personally, i like to water only when the pot feels like its empty when i pick it up, like chiceh was sayin. water till theres drainage etc... then pick up the pot, feels like a brick in there don't it. Wait a few days and pick it up again, feel the difference? I just started nutes on my lr2ak's which are about the same size.

Seriously, don't do too much! They're lookin good for now, just let em grow don't try to MAKE THEM ya know? Keep in mind they will at least double in size during flowering, so be sure not to let em veg too long! Good luck!
