Bit late now, they wont get very big before flowering. Next season is October to April.

the general outdoor growing season is in spring/summer. its possible to plant a winter crop around April/May and harvest around August/September then re veg it for the summer months but your plant wont get very big at all during winter.

also growing in winter you have to worry more about frosts and low temps at night that can kill your plant.

this is one of my current babies. it was my first autumn/winter plant. i planted her, from seed, in April 2013, harvested her in august. only got 7 grams but i kept her small on purpose (my yard is pretty open and smaller plants are easier to hide) and it was a trial run.

so brother its up to you, if you don't care about size or need some extra experience then go ahead, if you think its going to be a waste of time maybe try an indoor grow

thanks for the info guys is the yield going to be small due to lack of sunlight hours or due more so to low temp ?

both, the days are shorter in the winter months, keep your seedlings in partial shade(2-4 hours a day) for the first 2-3 weeks then move them to full sun. also using a mulch will help keep your roots a bit warmer. i used sugar cane mulch and it worked pretty well

as i said i kept my plant pretty small, less than half the size it is now. if you allow your plant to grow bigger than you will probably get more. also try topping and LST to increase your yield

I am all for topping especially when combining it with LST, its an easy way to keep your plant small enough so its easy to hide but still give a decent yield. uncle bens guide has some pretty good info in it, just dont top too early, wait till the 3rd or 4th node appears then top. then as the plant grows out use small tent pegs or bits of wire to pin the limbs down.

when you pin a plant down for LST it allows more growth to sprout as it reaches for the sunlight.

Hey mate i live south of sydney and last winter i put a few seedlings outside to see what would happen , most plants grew to about a foot tall and yielded 5-30 grams . With night time temps usually around 2-5 degrees , it was more effort than it was worth lol, grow indoors if you can or wait til next season
