NORTHERN CALIFORNIA OUTDOOR - It's that time!

Ordered seeds from Holland... strains include Sleek Stack, White Widow, Skunk #1, Purple Bud, Early Durban, etc. I started them almost 3 weeks ago and currently have them in their own closet within my indoor garden setup. They are sitting under T-5 lighting until they are a little stronger and I'm able to determine the sex. So far, about 130 of the 150 babies are looking pretty good. I screwed up in the beginning by putting them in wet paper towels to get them to pop because that's what I've done in previous years. However, these guys popped in like two days and I think they should've been placed straight into soil. So, they no longer look stressed and seem to be thriving.

Babies are looking great! I'm waiting on their third set of leaves so that I can clone some of them and determine their sex before I take them outside. Next year I think I'll pay the extra money to get seeds that are feminized so that I don't have to go through this whole process. To be honest... starting from seeds is my partner's thing. I've always started from clones up until last year. Outdoor is still relatively new to me as well (this is my 3rd year). I've always been an indoor person so I consider myself still learning as we go when it comes to these gardens. We have 3 or 4 separate locations this season. Each will have a minimum of 25 girls. Two of the locations will be in ground (we used them last year), which are certified organic soil. We also sunk a shitload of money into the soil last year and hope to just "top it off" this season. The other two locations, we will be using 100 gallon potting bags on pallets. Why? You ask... because A) a good percentage of the soil up here in northern cali is adobe, which is hard as hell and difficult to break down; and B) we aren't sure if these two locations are going to be available next season. So why sink money into great soil if we can't reuse it the following season?

Anyways, I'll keep you posted as we get closer to "breaking ground". Thanks for reading!

We plan on using a bat guano and fish emulsion tea that we store in a 55 gallon drum. Because outdoor plants are more hardy I don't think I'm going to run filtered water... just simply connect my water source to soaker lines and a timer. As for the number of plants, in the county I reside in is definitely one of the more lenient counties in the state. Anyone with a script can grow up to 30 plants within a 10 by 10 canopy. We are also allowed to have 3 scripts growing at any given location at one time. What that means is I could technically grow up to 90 plants within a 30 by 30 canopy for 3 patients that are legal prescribed a script. Each location is well under the limit. We try to stay in good with our neighbors... even if we are legit and they can complain all they want. Being a good neighbor is key to a harmonious harvest. :-)
