Northern Skunk Grow

This set of 4 PeakSeedsBC Northern Skunk are planted in 1 gallon pots to start. Sunshine Advanced Mix #4 with Resilience Silica. It's a peat/coco blend with generous perlite for soilless growing. I added a drainage layer of rinsed Grow!T clay pebbles. Last time I tried germinating in this mix, the plants struggled dearly to break out of it. When I planted it, I filled the pot and the soil was moistened with 4ml Botanicare Calmag and 4ml AN B-52 in a gallon of RO water. I opened a pocket in the center about 1.5"x1.5" and put in ProMix Peat. Seeds break out of that easy. Planted the seeds without any soaks or paper towels. Like clockwork, here we are 4 days later under a T-5.IMG_20170421_213003121.jpg
If you can't see, all 4 are emerging right now. I did rehydrate the surface only, that's all that dried out, with a diluted Microbial Tea(Ancient Forest Alaskan Humus, Golden Barrel Unsulfured Molasses, GH Floraliscious Plus, and AN B-52 bubbled 24-48 hrs). I PH all my stuff 5.7-6.0.

I have 3 boxes. 4 bulb 2' T-5 for germ/seedlings. 400w Metal Halide for Veg, 600w HPS for flower that moves 6" on a mover back and forth. But I have 3 Mars Hydro Reflector 48's coming. I wanted to try em out...maybe supplement flower room, maybe replace 400w Metal Halide.

Mars hydro and vipaspectra are really good for veg. As for flower I'll be honest man I seen some pretty nice Grow journals with the mars hydro as much as people bash them.

Yeah, at 18" PAR value is about 477-350. The values on the 96 and 144 are real nice. I think 2 in Veg would work very well. 2 to supplement my 600 w in flower, at 12" away like I do the 600. Heat is not an issue.

I use a viparsprectra, pulled decent weight from my plants, the 300w i can get within 4" from the light, the 450w with both switches on can be kept arpund 6-8" i like them.

I think they could use a straight watering next time, maybe ease that leaf curl. I don't know how I can have calmag issues when I'm adding it at the strength I do...
The stems get purple streaks, so I see it when they are getting more and the purpling starts to go away. And those necrotic spots on the lower leaves I believe are from calcium issues. My next run I've added Azomite to the mix to see if that helps.

It went great. I grew some sweet NorthernSkunk, and it's preffered my myself and friends over SkunkBerry. Looks really cool at harvest and a signature smell.
