Hey watch the great video Johnnyo shared with us...It tells why we should have goverment run healthcare...awesome thanks johnnyboy ...this is great...lol smacked once again... please give neg rep again I love those from you guys..wear them like badges of honor..
Do you think I linked that video by accident? I stated in my post that it was in favor of government Health care.

So what exactly are you crowing over?

The fact that I am able to consider more than one side of an issue?

That I am willing to actually listen to, or read, an opposing viewpoint?

And you will get your neg rep, just keep up the boorish behavior. I'm waiting for the perfect example. You don't mind do you?

We need the Feds to assure that states do whats right for its people... Some states would only build fire stations in certain neighborhoods the Feds come in say these are the rules or we will not give you this funding if you don't follow them... so the state assures its people that fire stations are built everywhere because the Feds won't give them fundings if they don't... same with your public schools, police, roads, etc. Heres a little history lesson ..because as you know I deal with facts: The Little Rock Nine were a group of African-American students who were enrolled in Little Rock Central High School in 1957. The Little Rock Crisis, which the students were initially prevented from entering the racially segregated school by Arkansas Governer Orval Faubus, and then attended after the intervention of President Eisenhower. Feds had to make sure states do whats right..This is the United States of America and we united with the Federal Goverment...History teaches us that in order to assure that all the people in this Great Nation get treated equal you will always need the Federal Goverment. Thank you for helping make our point with the video...Now I can link it
That was President Eisenhower using the power of the federal government to uphold the U.S. Constitution, namely the 14th Amendment.

There is nothing constitutional about Nationalized Health Care.

Next!

Jonny, do you oppose National health due to Govt power increase and loss of liberty, because you have to pay for it or because of your constitution. So far I dont think I have read your reasons. Thats if you do 100% oppose it, as you do seem open to suggestion, unlike some. All I want to say at this point is, would you not have a choice to go private still?

My only problem is that nationalized anything which is not specifically delegated to the federal government in the Constitution is unconstitutional.

Health care is a state/local issue according to the 10th Amendment. That is where the debate should be taking place.

Well, the elites do get certain privileges, which I'm fine with, but they're heavily abused. Say anything other than an automatic republican response, and two or three elites will -rep you. Name-call, and you will get in trouble. When they name-call, it's ignored. If you call them out on their name-calling (which is being ignored), then you get accused of name-calling and get in trouble. I've considered paying numerous times and gaining elite status, but then I see how the elites behave - I don't want to be a part of that. I don't support that type of behavior. I do support RIU and legalization/growing cause, but I do not support what happens in this section. If the politics section gets closed, I'll send in my money right away.
Who's a Republican? Personally, my last Primary participation (the true indicator of one's party affiliation IMHO) was the New York State Republican Primary of 1992. Since then I have sat out each party primary because who the two major parties each select as their nominee is none of my business.
Well here's some +rep to mitigate the -rep you're getting for debating with the elites. They use the power of -rep to hush those who disagree with them. Quite sad, really.
What is sad is that the politics section may be closed because of all the whining. If a member insults me I am much more inclined to respond with a -rep than I am to report the post.

With the -rep option, there is no need to whine and snivel in the thread about other members. And it eliminates need to tattle to the mods.

Plus, I prefer the personal touch.

I understand your point Jonny, but I disagree with the -neg from anyone who doesnt have anything other than $5 a month. Neg rep could be a useful tool, used by the right people, to stop people giving nonsensical advice to people who dont know any better and follow it.

And I showed you why Nationalized Health Care was unconstitutional.

Then I showed you why, in the example you cited, the federal government intervened. Troops were sent to Little Rock to enforce a Supreme Court ruling based on the 14th Amendment.

You are welcome, by the way.

But the video, while informative and well put together, does not make a convincing case for Nationalized Health Care. It makes quite a good case for why it should be provided locally; like the fire department, municipal police, water works, and public schools.

Nice try, membersonly. LOL!

I don't see your point at all... The video shows exactly why we need national health care...What we should just have local healthcare...so if you live in Boise..you get it...but if you live in Miami you don't..WTF please explain the local issue ONLY part...

It never ceases to amaze me how Leftists equate dissent with bullying, all the while ignoring the bullies on their side of the debate.

Let's get something straight: Just because I would have slept with Sarah Baracuda does not mean I would have voted for her.

Does Miami have a fire department, municipal police, water works, and a public school system?

None of those services are listed as federal responsibilities in the Constitution either.

Now do you see the point?

Everyone of these are still controlled by your Federal goverment..Let anyone of them not follow the guidelines and treat people different see how fast the Feds will step in...Do you really think that your local goverment can do anything it wants..Why do you think we have a Supreme Court that rules everything that it wants to decide on...

I have already answered that question; asked by TheDemocrat.

I will not repeat myself for your benefit.

You provided the example yourself. When the state of Arkansas decided to support a local school district openly disregarding a Supreme Court ruling, Ike sent in the troops.

Federal funding has nothing to do with it.

If a community denied public services to some of its citizens unconstitutionally as in Little Rock, the federal government would be correct in intervening should the state fail to act.

Fair enough.

Health care is not a right.

Any dialogue on health care/insurance should be done at the state level.

Health care/insurance for all? Let's break that down:

All Illegal aliens? No.

All who can afford it but choose not to purchase it? No.

All who are otherwise eligible for an existing program but are not enrolled? No.

That just about covers the 46 million uninsured.

What about the lady who works at the mall.

What about the people whos insurance right now don't cover shit

What about the people who got dropped off there coverage

What about the people with pre-existing conditions

What about the guy who just works at the bar to pay his way in school

What about the stripper who is doing the same ( who I'm I to judge ..lol)

You see I could go on and on but you see but the total just gets bigger and bigger

Thats why we need it at the Federal level so everyone has a FAIR shot at healthcare for all..now I do agree about illegal aliens ( but thats another topic for me )
