not going to flush before harvest, am I screwing myself?

Using fox farm trio lineup of newts in ffof soil. I have some plants where the tops are finished yet the bottom is not. How do people flush these plants for 2 weeks?

Do they flush for 2 weeks, chop the tops, then continue with straight water after that? It seems that would cause some serious deficiency.

I'm going to route of chopping tops right before my next feeding. That way it at least had 1 watering without nutes before the chop.

Anyone have issues with buds that had ff nutes fed to them 6 days prior?

come on riddle, as an experienced grower, you can't give more detailed answer than this?

So I should flush twice then, once b4 top chop, and a 2nd time b4 bottom chop?
Sorry bout to reveal it to the class I'm teaching and don't want to give away the answer for any of them that are lurking on my post :bigjoint:

Like Mygirls said. There will be no noticeable difference. Some people will say otherwise. I think you should try it both ways and see for yourself. In my very humble opinion, flushing merely serves to starve your plants.

Use molasses after the flush if not before too, and that will give them something to eat.
If you give minimal nutes you should be ok with out the flush. Feed hard and you will have unclean tasting bud.

I just started flushing in Ebb and Flow, and it is smoother, taste better, does burn a little cleaner, and in my humble opinion they seem more Thrich covered.

And that is with putting the Ebb and Flows into a straight water DWC for the last 5 days.

In soils, once you have fully flushed them the first time there is next to nothing left in the soil for them to eat, so any more flushs would be a waste. Now, if you feed nutes after the first cut then you could flush them before you take the rest of the plant if you choose to.

exactly, flushing will only cause your plant stress in its final days

It does seem to work better than just plain water. If you run itin your system for a day it does not seem to stress them at all. In fact, alot of people see an increase in growth right after do to eliminating lock out.

thanks for everyone for the info and opinions, I think I'll just cut the tops right before the next feeding. That way they will have 6-7 days and 1 plain watering to use nutes from last feeding.
