Not growing fast?

Hey all, My plants don't seem to be growning fast at all after reading a few of your journals. I'm about a month and a half in from germination and my plant is only about six inches tall, on it's fifth set of leaves.

Is this slow? It is in potting soil Miracle grow brand, getting 24 hrs light.

do you have pictures of your plant it could be absolutly fine, just a slower growing plant.

any discoloration or anything?

No, plants look beautiful (save for one) Good color, perfect leaves... It's just small. By small I mean undeveloped, like most people plants are after 15 or so days. :blsmoke:

then most likely the roots are having a little problem in that media, remember most users that have great growth mix the soil for maximum airration

that be the most common not enough or the proper lighting, i use a couple t5s and a couple compact fl bright light 100watters

If they look healthy otherwise I'm guessing it's the light. What type of light are you using and how close is it to the plants?

It is in a large enough pot, I think it's definitely the amount of light. I'm just not getting how much should be used here. At the moment I have three 24Watt(100w equivalent) Flouro bulbs as well as a shop light with two 32 t8 bulbs over them right now. What should I look into getting to add more light( or the right ammount of light) to my small grow room.

Currently, I have five plant growing under three (plug in) 24 watt(100w equivalent, spiral bulbs) fluorescent bulbs, as well as one hanging work-light with two T8 32watt bulbs. Is this enough for the plants I have? If not, how many more (in watts) do I need. Or what different types of lighting systems do I need to look into getting.

Or, how many plants should I get rid of (can I tell which are male or female at this point?) to maximize the light output that I have.

I'm trying to keep this as cheap as possible, as I'm on a low budget.

I'm growing for personal use in Miracle grow potting soil.
