Chill. The bottle doses are usually too strong. 1.2 EC is about right.

You've not overcooked it badly. Maybe the strain is a light feeder. Just back off to 1.0 for a while.

If you've already made up 55 gal of nutes try to grab 10% with a bucket and replace with water. Then pH as appropriate and see what happens. You can reuse the nutes later in the week.

im using tap water that comes out at 0.2 ec. it says 110ppm on the 5ppm scale. think this is too much?

No way that's too much. That's soft water and you *might* need to add calmag (if you get deficiencies).

Edit: I should also add that might explain why you're getting some burn. Someone else might have 400ppm water and add 200ppm of nutes to make it 600ppm total (1.2 EC). You have 100ppm water so are adding 500ppm of nutes to make it 600ppm. Back it off a little, there should still be plenty of nutes for your girls because your water is so soft.

Lol so it's hard to some and soft to others? It's Lake Michigan's finest then it gets filtered. I was on the fence about buying am ro system since I use 100gals every week for res. Im going to try a tall boy filtration to get rid of some chlorine and see how it goes

they have to provide you a free water analysis if asked. go for it!

i get my well water checked every few years. and i don't even grow with it. just to make sure nothing bad in it.

120ppm is hard water so you are close.
This is interesting. I was reading about water hardness a couple of weeks back. You're quoting 120ppm as a hard water cutoff level... but that actually refers to the level of calcium carbonate alone (mg/L). Tap water usually has a good amount of sodium, potassium and other ions in it too; the ppm you read on your TDS meter includes all that. So... you can't really use the 120ppm read with a TDS meter as a cutoff level for hardness. It's probably more like 250-300ppm including all other salts.

Have a look at somewhere like Long Beach, Ca on this list:

You'll see they have 4ppm Mg, 23ppm Ca and 110ppm Na (23ppm of Ca=57ppm CaCO3). So they have soft water but total ppms will be above 120.
