For all hydroponic based systems, the nutrients that go into them are specifically formulated to not degrade or fall out in a consistently agitated nutrient solution. This is very important because many soil based feeding regimens feed over time, or have special activators in them which in a hydroponic system would make things fall apart! In addition, many soil based formulas are not meant to interact with each other like they do in hydro systems. Lastly, you might find that exposing roots to many of these soil based nutrients can cause instant death because what was originally intended as a slow release over time turns into something overnight, and you may come back to the sight of your babies yellowed to death by burn... ouch.
