Nutrient Ratios

According to Mel Frank the correct ratios of NPK for cannabis are:

Veg: 3-1-2
Early Bloom: 2-1-2
Mid Bloom: 1-1-2
Late Bloom: 0-1-2

The key thing to note there is the ratio of P to K is always 1:2, the only variation is in the N levels.

When purchasing your nutrients always make sure they have the correct ratios for growth. Happy growing.

I the nutes you love so much don't have these ratios or something acceptably close to, then their company is misleading you.

Miracle Gro 24-8-16 is a great 3-1-2 veg fertilizer.
beware of its acidity though! Should not be used unless you have a PH kit.

30 years ago there was no General Hydroponics, Canna/H&G, Advanced or whatever nutrients, but there was Miracle Gro. And 30 years ago, despite popular belief, they were growing some killer weed.

I wouldn't cut the Nitrogen out completely.. that is never a good thing..

Yeah that don't seem right, then again I would cut out all the nitrogen two weeks before harvest if I knew the exact date I was gonna cut.

Theres a bunch of diffrent theories regarding the use of nitrogen in flower. Nitrogen is the main building block of life for a plant. That being said i dont think it should ever be completly cut out.

Didn't know mg ferts were super acidic, a friend of mine uses them, and his plants seem to be doing just fine. Maybe I should tell him to mix some baking soda in next feeding to raise the ph a bit?

Great post Beansly, I can think of a bunch of nutes in my local hydro shop that I've seen that just load the phosphorous up the asshole. I've personally never considered buying them, but I've always found it a bit odd that cannabis would need so much phosphorous. Apparently that is not the case... hopefully nutrient lines will readjust their formulas to actually be beneficial.

I bought into all the bullshit too. They spend lots of money trying to convince us to our plants need more food than they really do to sell more product. And then once you have their product, they try and convince you that if you don't give them high ppms/EC then you wont get a good yeild, which is total crap.

If I was good at math I'd go through every nute companies nutrient calculator and compare the ratios. See whos keeping it honest.
It makes me wonder about pk 13/14 bloom nutes. Should be closer to 7/14 right?

Hey guys I was curious how do you add the NPK of say a three part nutrient system... say ANs micro grow bloom for example which is
4-0-0 1-1-6 0-5-4 respectively. If 4mL of each were added to a gallon would you just add them together? And what if you add them at different ratios?
