Nutrient solution question for autoflowers

Hi this is my second time growing, but ive never encountered autoflowers. I have seen most people using soil, but im not going to use that since i spent so much money on the solution already. I have a drain and fill system and a aeration system, i am growing speed devil autoflowers and i need to know how much of the 3 part nutrients to use.
Thanks,
Hebrew

below is just your basic drain and fill system that i most definately could have done better on. and to the right is a drip ring system i have a 400 watt hid ballast to the left that you cant see but its there.

below is where i germinate my seeds i use starter rockwool and i hook a air pump to the tray to stimulate air.

This cfl below, is for germinating and cloning it has a support that raises and lowers the lights

Ok. Autos that finish in 65-80 days usually start flowering around 2-2 1/2 weeks. If you are doing super autos, or autos that mature in 100 days or so, then maybe extend your vegging nutes by another week. When i use soil, I research t he strains tolerance to over and under feeding and apply as such. If the plant can take high ppM's, AND i have a compost mixture with available nutreints, then i might feed with a 1/2 to 1/3 dose of the manufacturer's recommended dosing. Follow a ppM chart always until you memorize that shit by heart!

Some autos, when used in an Ebb and Flow application such as your own, get larger than specs and yield heavier than soil. ****Keep this in mind if you are confined by space issues! With this being said you need to pay attention, and understand that larger root masses in larger plants use larger amounts of nutrients. This is a very important concept to grasp when dealing with ANY medium and larger root mass. Less is more!! Start of with a diluted 1/2 to 1/3 nutrient solution for a few days. With Hydroponics, you can see the effects of your work more immediately as opposed to soil mediums. Your plants will tell you if they need more.

Hope this was not too much of a rant and helped. :fire:

Not at all I have only grown one time before, what do you suggest germination, I was going to start them out in a glass of distilled water but I'm open to any ideas, also once my seed pops do I put it sprout down or sprout side up? I'm using starter rock wool

Sprout them in wet paper towels might take 2 -3 days, then plant them sprout side down bout 1/4'' below the surface of the moon :bigjoint:

dont you risk hurting the root when you wrap them in towels? I'm not saying you will, but I have read alot about them getting stuck to the paper towel.

What are the ppms suppose to be for autos regularly from week one to the end in using fox farm and soil
if your using soil i wouldnt worry about ppm so much
id be more worried about ph
1/4 strength of what the directions say is a good starting point
hydroponics on the other hand like always is trial and error until dialed in
and seeing how even growing the same strain
odds are your going to end up with alot of very similar but totally different pheno's shape structure and nute tolerance is all affected by this pheno swing
i would wait until atleast preflower to start nutes your soil will provide atleast a month of growth per gallon
the plant will show sex but still has vegging to do
feed water water feed
water when your pots feel light
raise nute levels slowly
i leave mine the same str the whole grow various stages and i am lazy so i just mix once
