O2 grow emitter confusion

Hi guys ive had o2 grow for about 2 years now and used maybe less then 400 hours, bubbles were great until i cleaned the irridium off so i bought new pair from ebay and that black irridium coating was all gone, l returned them and got 2 more emitters from ESOTERIC HYDROPONICS and they just turned up even worse condition.

This time they came with none of the usual packaging, just in plastic bags and a plain white box with no logos, the wires both have some out of place sticker saying F20,Melted glue all over these, melted plastic and again has scratched coating off on both sides of both emitters. These things are so expensive, are they even worth running in dwc, i might aswell sack these off and stick with the air stones right?

Really appreciate any and all input, not sure what to do, cant find a decent seller for o2 emitters in uk

yeah dude fuck those things I'd move on to waterfalls or airstones. The cost of replacing that electrode over and over wont be worth the benefits.. And I don't think you really need one of those to get the DO levels you need

Sorry was sat explaining what they said, when it was easier to Screen Shot, im assuming the higher level my DO the less nano bubbles it will produce... Long story short I thought was broken but just couldnt hold anymore or produce

i dont think that assumption is correct at all, these emitters split water into hydrogen and oxygen via electrolysis so as long as theres liquid to split it should produce the same amount of bubbles regardless of the DO level.

yeah.. honestly i wouldn't use these things if they gave'm to me for free.. for starters its creating twice the amount of hydrogen gas then oxygen because thats what water is made up of, this 2 part hydrogen 1 part oxygen mix is called HHO and its a very potent explosive when ignited, i hope you got good ventilation, the second reason i wouldn't use these is because when performing electrolysis its really important to pick the right electrolyte salt to use as a conductive medium, for instance if you use regular table salt in electrolysis you'll produce chlorine gas, the problem here is we use a mix of many different minerals in the same solution so who knows what kind of by products these units are making...

Holy shit thanks man im selling mine and going back to silver bullet and liquid oxygen

Still overkill man. If you don’t wanna use air pumps and air stones look into waterfall hydroponics and venturi
Keep it simple silly!

I wonder if you can Somehow use the electrodes to make colloidal silver

Getting maximum DO is easy with airstones, waterfalls, etc.
As long as you have a enough surface and a good balance between the size of your container/rex and your roots.

I have the O2Grow 2020 (2 emitters): as far as I can tell it would only be good for starting clones with < 200ppm, otherwise the chlorine smell is overwhelming , whether that would be harmful I have no idea In the mean time I devised a set up for max DO without pump and air stones once the roots get big enough to move from my starter DWC/bubbler/airpump

I took a plastic bottle drilled a bunch of holes and put a 240gph pump into the throat. I half filled the bottle with platonic solids (odd shaped dice) and put the pump on a timer set so that the nutes pump through long enough to create DO. You have to work the math out as to how long to run the pump, depending on how many gallons your rez holds

I use RO and start from scratch, hoping my chlorine levels are low enough, gonna make a diy venturi, absolute genuis I love these mods, as much as they love hiding in plain sight. Really love that it uses no power just clips onto existing pump really the guy who came up with this needs a pat on the back and good topping up on grade a herb
