When one says the stock market the Dow is the usual inference. I went with 11/28/08 of 8829 and 11/30/16 of 19123. 19123/8829 = 2.17 or 217%. 8829*3 = 26487 a number yet to be reached. I chose the month elected to be the effective dates. For the S&P I had 896 and 2199, 2149/896= 2.45 or 245%. Better than the Dow did but still not up 300%. 896*3 = 2688.
