Why do i see green after working on my plants that are under blurple lights ? Is it because there is no green in the spectrum? (growing lettuce under reused growing lights tryin to get away from monsanto food industry)

Wear glasses dude. I think the blue leds are particularly bad for your eyes
I got some method 7's but they don't fit over my normal glasses so i rarely wear them. I probably should wear them plus they cut thru the blurple color.

Blurples are terrible for your eyes. You gotta turn em off, tbh. I got rid of all mine for this reason (among many others).
Yea i havent used these in years and i honestly was gonna sell them but i'm using them to grow some lettuce cause my t5 ballast blew right now i am growing some johnny seeds black seeded simpson and red sails, along with their salad mix.

It's probably the same kinda think that makes you see colors if you invert color really fast. The brain can't comprehend it as it's not something you would we in nature. Able to get over .5g/w with blurple? I hear that's the average

Not sure i havent grown buds with these blurples in years, this is for growing lettuce for food purposes, also growing a couple marglobe tomato plants under them for sandwich purposes :)

I would agree though they aren't the most efficient lights but they work good for growing green stuff.

Using these

Seems to make the plants extremely dark green.

Its the uv light cooking your eyeballz from the inside.i would find a pair of welding glasses if you insist on being under the lights at all when the uv is on.

This reminds me of some of the sciency things we did when I was a kid. For instance, we were told to stare at a picture of a reversed color American or Canadian flag for like 30 seconds without moving our eyes - it was green and black instead of red and white. Then you'd look at a plain white page or something and briefly see a faint reversed image, red and white. Or if you stare at something with a lot of contrast then close your eyes you'll see a ghost image. I have no idea really, but it may be our brains compensating for the lack of green under the grow light, or the rods/cones in our eyes being overloaded by the available spectrum, or something.

Or the blurples are frying your eyes, but I don't think that's it. I know what you're talking about and I know there's a reason, just not what it is exactly.
