Im going to be starting a new grow and was wondering if I was going to put 16 3 gallon grow bags under one light, that fits in a 4x4 area, is the 1000w light I have going to be enough light?

i have 16 under a 1000W , but mine is in a 9x9 space packed close together. seems to be working fine for me. but then again what do i know im a noob

3x3 = 400W 4x4 = 600W 5x5 = 1000W.

If you used the 1000W over a 4x4 they would pop real well. I use 600's per 4x4 and they are perfect.

Yea thats what I figured. I just didnt know how long they would get the proper amount of light, because by week 5-6 they're going to be pretty big. Also how long would you guys veg if your going to flower in 3 gallon bags? I'm thinking 4 weeks. I just dont know forsure, because I have always done sog method that didn't require a veg period.

Veg them as long as you think, you can monitor their progress and flip when you feel they are ready. But I think your problem is you want to place them further apart and grow bigger plants with longer veg period but you only have a 1000W which will only cover the 5x5 static. You could place them rectangular and either get a light mover or another light.

Obveously I know that. I just didnt know if you follow a general rule of thumb when it comes to veg time and amt of space for the plant ie 1, 2, 3, 5 gallon, etc...
