i have been to both, although the one above mongolian bbq was not distributing meds on the day i went, i think it was a sunday or something. ann arbor health collective people are ok, there product is decent. prices are high but thats what youre gonna get from a dispensary. their clones are sad as fuck, spider mites on my clones i got from them, and when i went in there the other day they looked very droopy, and small. actually, it was quite the depressing experience i felt bad for the plants. the sales people are pretty cool though, but typically i just go to the one in ypsi. consistent product, cool peoples there all the time, and there is a club area as well.

apart from the clones being real small at aahc, the genetics are looking very good as they are growing out. im am very interested in seeing how my grow is gonna finish up =-D

Too bad the growers on the forum know more then the dispensaries. Why aren't we making the bank in this market? People are getting ripped off by scandalous medical dealers that flash wayyyy too much weight in public. Then you goto a clinic which should be designed to help people, and they rip you off even harder then the dude on the street! The stuff I am seeing people pay top dollar for is not worth it. The stuff I find from some friend at a compassion club that they give away for free is the dankest shit in the world. Bud is cheap to grow and we all know that, we have to flood the market with our over the top quality bud and put these overpriced a-holes out of business. I grow my patients for free. Other then that I keep the prices low no matter what the strand, it's just a name for a plant. Not a rare artifact, you shouldn't get gouged to get high. Hope to see everyone growing and someday maybe I'll open my own spot and treat all RIU members to free Tokes!

100% agreed. ive been sayin almost the same thing since the beginning. people dont understand that if you sell a product for cheaper than the rest, you'll sell more than them, and in the long run you'll make more money....its simple really. anything over $200 an ounce is not only ridiculous, but totally not worth it in my opinion. i know you have big start up costs but so do most other businesses...welcome to the world of owning your own business, i think they say that most businesses start making a profit after 5 years but i know these dispensaries will be making huge profits loooong before that.

we used to have a store here on the farm, so i have a storefront i could use and i have all the barn space in the world for a collective so growers could supply my store...just dont have the start up capital or the township connections....yet....but ive been workin on it.

For sure - Compassion Clubs is the way to go , dont get ripped off at dispensarys -

Some compassion clubs have a farmers market type system - you pay your anual fee and you can go in and vend or buy meds - this is the type of places people should get their meds from, and the same type of places that need to be more common

About the whole cost debate...do you guys (caregivers) always charge the same for *each* type of strain? For instance, you are growing two different strains:

a) 12-14 week sativa
b) 8 week indica

Clearly, the additional harvest(s) that you will be able to complete for the 8 week variety will mean quite a bit more weight accumulated throughout the year. That said, would you guys charge more for the sativa or the same price for both, when sold to patients? I'm sure that you would charge more, when sold to dispensaries though, correct?

Hmm...now that I think of it...how difficult is it to find those long flowering varieties like Kali Mist or Super Lemon in a legal MM market?

Hmmm, u know where to find one of those farmers markets?

I went to the Liberty 420 Clinic in Ann Arbor on Saturday to get my MM card. The whole process took about 2 hours; they don't usually have a doctor there on Saturdays, but were running special appointments. Despite what the paperwork and people say, it was only $200 without medical papers, not $250.

You can also buy at Liberty the same day. I walked out with 4 grams ($15 and $20/gm). Until the 21 days pass OR the State cashes your check, you can buy ONLY at Liberty. It's $12 for a year membership.

Aside from a little drama involving an elderly black woman who insisted the employees were racists because they asked for her membership id, it was a successful trip. The whole trip cost me around $420--well looky here!
$12 membership fee
$200 doctor fee
$75 product
$100 State fee (incl. w/ paperwork sent in)
$3 lighter & papers (wasn't planning on partaking on the way home, but I couldn't wait hehe)
$27 tank of gas

I picked up 420 Diesel, Purple Kush, Chronic, and Lemon Diesel.
I've only tried the 420 and Chronic so far, and it's a hell of a lot better than the shit I was getting through a friend.
