Oh, but if only were I to be, a lumberjack, like thee.

I've been growing since last summer, mostly indoors. I've had incredible success despite numerous mistakes and surprises, and I'm finally settling into the rhythm of a perpetual indoor grow.

My setup is really small, 1-2 plants in each cabinet, and I have to keep them relatively short, but I've been harvesting about 4-7 ounces of pretty frosty buds from 6 plants now, each, and me, my dad, and my brother in law haven't paid for weed since October. So it's been pretty cool and productive.

I've only grown in soil and coco so far, and have been sticking with the Roots Organic solubles, except on my first grow with the Fox Farms lineup. I'm digging the ease of the organic solubles, and am seriously thinking about doing real organic just for the fact that I have less work to do. That said, eventually I'd like to try DWC with House and Garden or some other crazy stuff.

I run two very small cabinets, less than 3 sq. ft. each, so I've got a 200W MH in the veg cabinet and a 600W Mars II LED in the flower. I toss another off brand 300W LED at a 45 sometimes if the plant seems able to take it. I've light burned a few plants. That was fun to diagnose. It looked like every possible deficiency as I treated each prior deficiency. Crazy.

I've got a Samsara Holy Grail 69 in a manifold about ready for the chop. Was my first manifold and I was predictably lazy and didn't manage it well, but it turned out nice nonetheless. I'll get pics up at some point.

I just germinated two Fast Buds GSC, my second Auto grow, and they're just about to poke through, I can feel it. Decided to blow some cash at the store the other day and picked up a very shiny bottle of Roots Excelurator, and am excited to see what difference it makes. I'm not sure it's roots that are really my bottleneck at this point though, I'm pretty sure I'm just out of space. This is two revegged clones from my first plant.

And this is probably not the right place so I'll move on with the introduction. I'm 35, a software developer for an evil organization, married, dig Pink Floyd, Opeth, Infected Mushroom, meat, beer, and excellent home grown. Especially Sativas.

Hello again!

hey hi Trim :)
wow impressive what you've been getting out of your space!

Makes me really curious as I have just finished my first full-fledged grow and am getting the feel I'd like to get a perpetual system going but am very limited spacewise and also need to make that more stealthy than I already have. So reading about your setup has revived the idea of splitting my closet in 2

So how do you handle heat issues, especially in veg with the MH?

As far as the root accelerator, I think you'll like that :D
I'm moving towards having a living soil myself (not quite there yet), but have been using the accelerator for my seedlings as well as for a first round of clones I took and am seeing good root buildup - which is essential for yield since that's where the plant manages its nutritional uptake - good uptake infrastructure = good feeding capacity = good growth & abundant flowering.

Of course, those roots also need adequate space to be able to build a good microbial system (it's a fascinating process!) that will support the plant without your having to add anything beyond water.
So I guess the main question to be answered regarding going real organics is the height of your grow space. There are different views as to the minimum amount of soil you need to go water-only, but I like the rule of thumb of 1gal for every month of expected life of the plant.
So what size pot can you fit in there?

Cheers!

Thanks all. Off to a good start here and liking the community a little more than over at 420Mag.

I'm only running a 150W MH, first post was mistaken, so the heat is almost non-existant. I've got a 6" vent booster on there right now, does well enough for cycling air through.

I'll get some pics of my setup up. It's a full stealth setup, three cabinets total. 5 months ago I was super proud. This summer, that POS gets rebuilt.

Veg cabinet is only 24"x30"x60". 5' tall. I can get 1x5Gallon, 2x3 gallon, 6x2 Gallon. I use fabric pots.

The Flower cabinet is the same dimensions, but 6' tall. I've got a 600W Mars II LED in there with a much better fan, and a carbon filter.

Third cabinet treats my air with a heater and humidifier. I'm still proud of that one.

I'll get pics up of my setup. Just popped a few seeds in the veg cab so it'll be pretty barren. The flower cabinet will be full of fun though. Harvesting soon.

I'd pass on the house and garden nutrients. Along with bottles A & B they have like 8 different "additionals" they recommend. You'd be looking at a hundred bucks minimum. I found floranova 1 part for hydro, coco or soil @ 25 bucks. I used it for coco all the way through and they did great. But by the look of your bud you probably know what works already. Go organics man it's cool knowing the soil itself is feeding your bud and come smoke time you can brag a little knowing no synthetics were used.

Heh, the Roots Organic is up there with all the bottles too. Was a bit annoying at first but once you know what you're doing and have your area set up its not bad. It takes maybe 5 minutes now to mix all my nutes. Come back after circulating it for 24 hours and pour. I have a fish tank thermometer keeping the solution at 70.

That actually why I like organic, more than any other reason. You don't have to do anything, or worry.

Yeah I had read that clone manifolds weren't quite as nice. I hadn't tried it before and love how organized it keeps the grow room.

While l enjoyed seeing my monster cropped clones filling the cabinet and poking out the passive intake, upkeep was hell.

So, who wants to pick the varieties I plant inside this summer, while my Frisian Ducks explode outside? I'll need up to 4.

Here's the options:

Barneys L.S.D
Fast Buds Girl Scout Cookies
Dutch Passion Blueberry
Dutch Passion Strawberry Cough
Dutch Passion AutoMazar
Humboldt Seed Organisation Blue Dream
Black Skull Bubble Bud
Auto Speed Haze
Dinafem OG Kush
Dinafem Cheese
Dinafem Critical+

I'm wanting heterogenous grows this time around, so one of each variety. And I'll have to make sure the picks will grow ok together.

Pick the one you think will blow me away. I'm actually quite new to good bud, so everything is basically a new experience for me. Which is kinda cool actually.

Next crop picked. Strawbeery, LSD, Blueberry, Girl Scout Cookies.

Holy Grail early smoke report.

Dryied 7 days, shit smells like sweet skunk. Tastes like, no joke, Pina Colada as advertised. I was blown away by the taste.

The high is very good and balanced. Heady, happy, slight body buzz, heavier in head neck and shoulders. Can't wait to try it again in a few weeks.

Wow that really makes me want to try the Holy Grail too! :D

Looking forward to those 4 you chose too there - at the mo, my experience is limited to northern lights #5 x haze haha

I keep meaning to do a northern lights... And keep forgetting. Want to find something as close to the classic as possible.

I actually changed my mind a bit on which plants are next. Currently I have: 1 707 Truthband, 1 Bubbas Gift, 1 Critical, 1 Blue Dream, 1 LSD, and 1 Bubblegum, all going 12/12 from seed. Doing a fast SOG before the summer hits with those so i can get some variety.

I also have a GSC, a Krippleberry, and an Auto Mazar in another cabinet, all autos, all on 20/4.

I'll be doing a journal on these, so pics coming soon. 5 seeds are still germinating, the others have been vegging for up to two weeks.

I'll be mixing my own silver thiosulfate for producing fem. seed, and will hopefully get a few seeds from each of those plants, so that'll be cool. I so wish I'd done this with my first plant, it was a badass for being a bagseed.

This fall and winter will be a season of playing with breeding!

Wow, what a bunch of interesting projects!
You're bound to have an exciting ride this year -- and us too! :bigjoint:

Looking forward to your auto journal, I'm planning a quick auto grow for variety after my current one finishes.
I'm only going to give them 18/6 though, I'm cheap like that lol ;)
