oh shit, something wrong with my tv!!!!!

I have a 42" philips tv, non flatscreen (ya get with the times, right?) and the damn thing doesnt wanna turn on, that is when I turn it on- it stays on standby ....it might be that a bulb has gone out or that I need to replace a socket, but if any of you guys have other ideas Id love to hear them.

get a new tv..

i had this tv for a while that i got from goodwill. you had to slap the side of it for it to turn on. it was a piece

that actually makes me feel better.

r u handy at all with electrics? if so take the back casing off and inspect the bulb and power connections/fuses

Im handy enough to know that electricity stays in some of those components for up to 2 weeks after you unplug the tv, so I wont be doing that anytime soon. this just sucks because my kids have to watch spongebob in the kitchen now

look in the phonebook and see if there is a TV repair place around.

They still do exsist, but it may be better to get a new TV.. Just talk to them and see how much it will be.

It might just be a 30$ fix.
