Ohio resident looking north for a more relaxed lifestyle

Hey guys/gals I'm a local Ohio guy here, looking for some advice. You all know why I'm here... my beliefs and my passion lead me to lead a life that says that I as a person should be able to medicate however I see fit. That being said I have been kicking around the idea of moving north a little to the land of Michigan! I've done a little research, and have read a few places that Michigan is not going as well as some hoped, and there were roadblocks in the continued legalization of mj in Michigan. Any insight to these rumors? Anyone have some feedback about how mj is looked upon in society in the north? I'm sick and tired of feeling like a criminal - Please advise

Michigan is great overall for a somewhat relaxed lifestyle. I suggest that you acquaint yourself with the details of our mmj laws. And all the bills re proposed changes that may occur to current laws and consider if any changes could become an issue (I am). You'll still prolly be better off up north here!

Michigan football team sucks... got beat but a team from the smallest division a few years back if i remember right....

on another note, ohio probably wont be legal anytime soon, but anybody who succumbs to law and joins is helping the very system we want to stop. they have no right to regulate a plant.

so i say save money and buy a house wherever and just mind your own business.

What are you talking about? UM football is on fire. They went 11-2 last year (won the bowl game and beat Ohio State!) with a new coach in his first year. They're ranked #8 in the country right now.

Move to Ann Arbor in the fall... it's really hard to find apartments right now, but it's a lot easier when all the students have either found a place or given up and gone somewhere else. MJ is basically legal here... just gotta be wary of the university cops, they enforce state law, not the ballot initiative that made possession and sale a $25 ticket.

Truth is this. Alot of haters will cringe at the thought of competition coming around, so they will just say negative things like "stay home" or something along those lines.

Truth is, if your heart is in it enough and you really do have the skills needed, you can come in and make something great happen.

There are TONS of people who I have dubbed "bagseed millionaires" in Michigan. These folks are the ones who never even smoked pot before the medical laws took effect, let alone GROW pot, yet once the law took effect, greed filled their hearts and dollar signs in the eyes. Most Michigan growers think that it's easy peezy to pop some seeds and turn it into cash. Lots of folks went out and spent thousands, even tens of thousands of dollars on equipment with the sole intention of making money. Then when they tried to put their plan into action, they realized this was MUCH more work then they had planned for. If your heart isn't in it, you WILL NOT make it. It takes serious dedication to devote the love and effort into your plants to ensure a superior quality medicine.

This is why used grow equipment is flooding the classified ads around the Detroit area. Folks who only saw dollars, invested the money, saw they couldn't handle the lifestyle, and are now trying to recoup as much of their investment as they can via craigslist and ebay.

If your heart IS in it proper, you could come here and carve out an awesome life for yourself and make some beautiful things happen for yourself and some very sick people who need your skills.

Just realize first and foremost, it's not a job, it's a lifestyle. 24/7 on call 365 days a year isn't a job. You don't get to punch out and take your mind away from work. Even when the days work is done, and the lights go out, you don't clock out. You constantly think of ways to improve your process as well as yourself as a person.

With all of that said, think hard and if you decide your heart is truly in, DIVE HEADFIRST WITH EVERYTHING YOU'VE GOT!

Relaxed lifestyle is a under statement, we are LAID back up north. go fishing , smoke cronic, ride the ATV, smoke some Dank, relax by the fire, inhale some grass, enjoy the woods, and burn some weed.

It's not a bad idea. I believe more people will begin to wise up and recognize the current economic deals available in Michigan. With home prices at some of the lowest levels in the country, it's a win-win for perspective growers. Oh and btw Fuck Ohio state
