How's the weather here in Ohio for growing weed? I gotta do it 100% outside, maybe one of you could give me a little advice about growing outdoor in Ohio?

Grow short flowering Indicas or you'll never make it past the first frost.

Start the plants indoors so that they are ready to plant at first frost. And like the other poster stated. Do not grow Sativas. They will take to long.

I bought some pretty OK bud off another newb grower for the bagseed. I plan on using that since its my first grow and on a real tight budget. The buzz seemed mostly indica to me so we should be good on that, but about lighting... I only have a 25WATT fluorescent lightbulb in my closet and use that for a small monotub. And my friend who lives with me is very paranoid about having a plant inside so really I don't think I'll be able to start inside sadly. I know this'll hurt my yield since we don't have a real long season and some bitchin' weather in the fall here but I'm hopin for the best.. 
I've got 105 acres to work with for isolated grows at least.
I was looking at maybe Northern Lights, Afghani, Skunk, or an auto-flowering strain for a few plants on the side. Do those sound fair for Ohio's climate?

Autoflower for sure. Look for anything that is 8 weeks or so.

Last year when I attempted an outdoor grow my plants were dug out of the soil and disappeared. I assume that they got eaten by groundhogs because there is a couple near by. How can I deal with this problem? I can't put wire mesh around my plants because it needs to be a stealthy grow.

I would love to shoot em but these groundhogs are smart and I don't own a rifle or shotgun. Anyone have an idea to solve this? I have heard a little about companion plants but I don't know much about them.Shoot'em.

You could surrond your plants with fox urine.. That might help. OR, use the powdered red pet they make to drive off rodents...
