OK. I went down to my local Home Depot to pick up some stuff for my grow and got talking to a younger guy working there. Just so happens he is growing. I told him I want to grow tomatoes and he laughed so I knew he knew what I was talking about.

He recommended the Miracle Grow All Purpose Plant Food (24-8-16 with micro nutrients) for Veg and the Bloom Booster (15-30-15 with micro nutrients) for flowering. Is this stuff OK to use? It was only $10 for the two so it's no biggie if it's garbage.

the 24-8-16 is great stuff for veg, and that's no bs. realy outstanding results.

the bloom booster i don't like as much; the values are not ideal, and you don't get max effects. halfway through flower, a superphosphate used once or twice helps, but after that, the plant uses more potassium than anything, and adv. nutes has a great new product for late flower. it's called hammerhead, i don't remember the values, but it's 0 nitrogen, medium p, and high k. it comes highly recomend, and i'll be using it from here on out.

i hope this helps, and would like to note for you that bloom booster will take you all the way to harvest, if used twice more often than directed. allow 7 days for flush and you should have no tastes left over. i have done this, with the exact same nutes, and so have others.

but

there are much better ferts out there. if you'd like advice on them, let me know.

Ok cool so it wasn't a total mistake. I think I'll just use the AP for the vegging and get a better for flowering. It's under CFL's so I need to best I can get. What would you recommend for flowering other than hammerhead?

I am using the MG 24-8-16 right now, doing alright I started with a little less then 1/2 TBS a gallon, and no signs of nute burns. Going to give it, 1/2TBS in a couple days, then slowly work up. But seems to be quality product.

I did use both of those, but i recently found an MG super bloom solution, that was less N more P and K. This is what i use now, it seems to work well. I water with this about 2x a week and once every 2 weeks I water with molasses. I'm about 2 1/2 weeks into flowering.

I use mg and like it. My goal is organic.

wait till it's time and start out slow.

Some people start with 1/4 strenght and if your growing indoor don't get over 1/2 strenght untill your well experienced

the one in the pink box... the bloom one i used for fowering.. it worked great!
