okay. my plants are about a month an a half old. there about 15 to 18 inches. im using 3 cfls. im supprised i got this far with them. and i was wondering will that be enough light for flowering? and what if the roots on my plants are allready comming outta the drainage holes? and check this. i just transplanted them to like twice as big of a pot that i had them in. from a 6 to a 10 inch pot. should i get bigger pots?

and another question. could i use 4 foot flouresents for flowering???

if you reply and help me out. your a life saver.:joint:

what are the wattage/lumen output of the 3 cfl's ur using now? unless there 75w+ each you are going to need more light to have these plants flower effectively. Are they bag seed or a name strand? Indica/Sativa based? Are the pots round or square? Ur plants will at least double in height to 3 feet. One flowering starts the cfls will have little effect on buds more than 2ft from them. I would suggest tying the tops down to get all the buding areas as close to the light as possible. how many nodes are on these plants? Can you afford a HPS? As a general rule I believe you should have a minimum of 3000 lumens per square foot. How many plants do you have total? Answer all these questions and i can answer more of yours.

10 inches should be ok.. i usually use a 5 gal. make sure it is full of soil. it sounds like the plant might be trying to root higher up.
.. make sure its full of soil, and the plant is far enough down. cfls can be used for flowering, just keep them close. the buds may be a smaller, but it will finish.

my cfls im using are 2 25 watts that have 1850 lumens each. and my 30 watt is 2050 lumens. and there bag seed plants. i got them in 10 inch round pots. and i cant efford a ballast cuz my homie is giving me a 400 watt hps bulb. and there are about 9 nodes on both plants.i have the cfls like right above it about an inch away from them.

well this was just an experiament anyways. and i hope i get atleast 10 grams outta them.so i could make an easy 200 bucks and get a ballast and start off the right way.

your plants are going to be way to big for the lights you have.I use at least what you have per plant, and i am still not getting the yield that the hps or mh guys are getting. Good weed, just not as much.
Yes you could use the 4 foot flourescent for flowering.
You could also use the incandescent grow bulbs you get at the grocery store that say "GROW LIGHT"
Not really
Get as many cfl's as you can and put them up now if you want to yield anything but a gram or two from all three plants.

10 inch round pots should be fine as long as there al least 10" deep. For all my grows i have used 10" diameter x 10" deep and have yet to come across root-bound problems. Get a couple good cfl's from walmart they have 50w and i believe 75w ones . Throw 2 of those in and u'll be good.
