Old School Organic Soil Grow

here we go again. I've got 5 seeds, all feminised , 4 orange bud and 1 sharksbreath. I've grown orange bud before (i'm around 6 weeks away from harvest) and it seems like a decent plant. So at this point I've got them soaking in cups of water, I always start my seeds off with a 24 hour soak in a warm dark cupboard.
My set up is a 4'x4'x6.5' tent, i have an extractor fan and carbon scrubber in it and a small 6" clip fan, the light will be a 400 mh at first and then onto a 600 hps. ive had around 5 grows under my belt, all soil/organic, and i have a current grow of 10 around 5 or 6 weeks from the chop (ive also got a little homemade dwc on the go where i'm learning the 'dro style). ive never had a journal before so this is really just a diary for myself but anyone reading this feel free to comment on my progress, give me tips or suggestion, i'm a firm believer that knowledge is power and we're all here to grow good weed.:fire:

well just got up and had a little look at my soaking seeds. they were all floating in my cups of water so i gave them a poke and they all sank. this is the point that i reckon they've soaked up enuff water and are ready to go to the next stage. i get a plastic tub with a lid and cover it with black gaffa tape in order to keep the light out, it also helps absorb heat. i line the bottom of it with kitchen roll and give it a spray with some water, not soaking wet but very moist. i've sat the seeds in and covered it with more kitchen roll and sprayed it again. popped the lid on and sat it on top of a radiator in my hall that my jackets hang above. this helps trap the heat so that even if my heating is off the retained heat should still help the process. I'll check on them tonight and give them another spray. i don't expect to see anything till tomorrow at the earliest and going by past experience it could take 2 or 3 days. I'll get some pics up when i find the bloody lead for my camera.

well i just checked there and that's all 4 of my orange bud cracked and each has the tap root just poking out. last night i prepared the pots for them i used b&q own brand( for any americans out there b&q is the major diy gardening outlet in britain, like a small walmart) cutting and potting compost mixed with around 20% perlite. this soil is pretty good and cheap , around £3 for a 12 litre bag, ive been working with it for about 18 months and never had any problems. so i filled 5 x 3" pots last night and gave them a good watering then left them to drain over night. i poked a little hole in the soil today and then today i popped them in my heated propagator under the light( this is a 2 x 55 watt fluorescent hood , exolux brightwing). the light is only around 2" from the prop lid. i also wrapped a t-shirt around my little plastic germinating box with its single sharksbreath seed in it and popped it into the prop as well. i'll mist the prop lid around 4 or 5 times a day at this point and my lights will be on 24/0 for now. the temps are around 35o celscius (95o farnheit) my humidity is around 60%. right thats me for today, i'm away for a bath coz my armpits smell like cooked turnip.

well nuthin much happening today, the sharksbreath hasn't cracked yet but it's still early so no worrys. ive just obtained 5 cuttings from my mate ands they've been popped into the prop with the seedlings, they're a combination of og kush and master kush. i've never grown any kush before so this is new to me but my friend kinda specialises in them so i know i've got advice straight to hand if i need it. i wish this bloody camera cable would arrive so i can get sum pics up. hang in there if ur following, it will happen eventually.

no, all seperate containers. 3" pots right now, that'll hold them for two weeks until they're established. two of my seeds have sprouted maybe around 1". my clones are all looking fine as well, fingers crossed they take. the sharksbreath has cracked as well. my camera cable is in the post so with any luck photos will appear shortly.

all four orange bud have broken soil but i'm starting to wonder if the sharksbreath is gonna come to anything. the clones seem fine but going by past experience i feel that it take s around 2 weeks before your fully certain about clones. still waiting on camera lead, should be here sumtime this week i hope.

If your growing organically try a little Quantun Growth photosynthic microbes that are a great converter of nurtrients for the plant. They create the sugar(plant food) ten times faster than the plant can feeding it back to plant. The plant does not have to work as hard converting nutrients and spends that time growing and producing. A site Douglas Speed and associates is where I order from and the site has some good info on it. They have been producing higher yields on agri. farms with less fertilizers, fungicides, and pesticides for years now and are making in roads in the hydroponic and growers industry just recently. Give it a go you'll become avid user. Side by side test in my room it beat hydrozyne and you know how people use that stuff. I havn't purchased a bottle since I started with Quantum Growth.
