Ok, I will try that. The plants are already bigger than I was hoping. They are 5' tall already and we got several more weeks of stretch coming. Its hot here and we have good soil that drains well. Plants grow fast.
How far north are you? What's your length of day? Early strains are flowering already in my neck of the woods {at 13 hours 58 minutes}. You want to have at least two weeks of veg left for your last topping.

Your plants look great, btw.

if them plants where mine I would take and trans plant them strait in the ground and you will get two times moor bud off them plants.there looking good.
Ya I am aware my other 2 are in the ground but these ones have to stay on the deck on account of deer, my other spot is kinda heaty lots of kids around so I wanted to grow in 2 different spots instead of having all 4 found by the kids.

Im in CA a few minutes from mexico. Its 14hrs 10 minutes now. I got a couple pinkleberry x blackdog indicas in full flower on a different grow plot. These ones are more sativa and not really flowering yet. It should still be fine to top them out. I will do it tomorrow on some of them.

Strains will vary greatly. A couple of years ago I was trying a bunch of new strains. I was used to our local Sativa heavy strains that flower toward the end of August, so I topped heavy in July like I always had. Next time I checked on my patches, about half of them were flowering. Weird stretch with uneven growth. I think it hurt yield. Plus most of those were Darwin Dope, and I lost a lot of flowering plants to drought that year. The stress of topping just before they flowered might have added to that.

That's not the kind of nipping it in the bud you want to do.

I could hack my plants back quite a bit and still get way more weed than I need. The sun is very intense here and my outdoor stuff turns into rock hard heavy nugs. Not going to do that but I have in the past. I just want a few branches and then Im gonna give the rest away so I dont have to trim it all.
