I ended up moving my drivers outside the tent. The amount of heat they produced was unreal.
Rapidled is a great place to due business with.
I can't complain so far. I like that they came out with this rail system. Saves me tons of time which is great because depending on seizure frequency and doctor visits I dont always have the time to sit and custom build stuff. Having this rail system saves me all that time and provides a future proof platform to mount all my leds to easily. Im not worried about the heat, with all these supplimental leds ill probably be driving my cobs very softly and I can disperse the heat with fans

Yea the driver running my veros is the one that gets hot especially when I get over the 90% mark. How did You mount the supplemental leds on the substrate?

I haven't received the substrate yet, but I plan to add the 2 48" heatsinks directly to the side of 2 of the rails, probably the inside edge of the 2 outside rails. Whats going to be complicated is how am I going to stagger the PRs and FRs on separate drivers in series, I don't want one bar of each that wouldn't make sense

Mike at Radid said they plan on making supplimental red kits that will be directly mountable to the substrate. If you take a look at what Growmou5 and ChilLed are doiing with the new "ChillConnect" system, DIY lights are really going to be THE way to go. As more and more LED component suppliers get on board like Rapid and ChilLed have, the better these setups will become and soon there will be no better light that what you can build yourself

Oh I agree 100% I have kept up with chilled and Growmau5 and saw there chilled connect system. I try to stay current with the tech as to stay on top of what's Good. Here is what I built . I have 3 like this but only have a picture of 2. I can't explain the pain in a$$ it was to make a clean harness for this as my drivers are outside the tent. I would have used the pre made wires for the xpe cree but they were short and i would have had to solder and shrinkwrap each extension.
How are you plan on turning the drivers on and off?

Oh I agree 100% I have kept up with chilled and Growmau5 and saw there chilled connect system. I try to stay current with the tech as to stay on top of what's Good. Here is what I built . I have 3 like this but only have a picture of 2. I can't explain the pain in a$$ it was to make a clean harness for this as my drivers are outside the tent. For now ill just use individual wall timers for each color channel. Eventually I want to use an arduino or raspberry pi do digitally control it all. Im a bit bummed that I was pitched and sold on hlg a series drivers. I'll have to replace those for my cobs so that was about $300 wasted money :/

Alternatively I'm positive I can easily design a dimming circuit and still use the hlg-a drivers, but that's not at all an efficient way to accomplish it

Yes I was too told to buy specific drivers only to find out later that they only dim to 10%. I found these power switch tails for a decent price so it's what I chose to go with. So far they work as planned but it would have been nice not to have to spend the extra cash.
