Opinions on DYI CO2 generators

What are some opinions on simple DYI CO2 generators (soda bottles, water, yeast, sugar)? Are they really worth it? Do they produce enough CO2 to really matter? The reason I ask is my grow tent is in my cellar, where not a lot of people go so I imagine CO2 levels are kinda low. But I've read mixed results about the home made CO2 generators so I was wondering what people thought. I was thinking since it doesn't cost a lot of time and money to set-up I may set one or two up in my tent, particularly during flowering.

DIY Co2 is about worthless, especially if its used in an unsealed room. Co2 is heavier than oxygen so your cellar would have a slightly higher level than your house.

Good point. So you don't think those DYI C02 soda bottles would do anything for my 2'-8" sq. x 5' tall grow tent?

Well you are putting more co2 inside the room. So it will help. Even if only a little. Hook the out tube to a fan and blow that CO2 around the girls.
