Opinions on my new setup?

So I just finished my very first indoor run. I grew 22 Purple Hindu clones under one 1000w hps and one 600w hps (would have loved to have used two 1000's but these were free and beggars cant be choosers). I ended up with 1 pound and about 110 grams. While I am abso-fuckin-lutely enthralled with the awesome quality of the bud, I am somewhat disappointed with the amount. I guess its ok for my first time but I was shooting for the 2+ pound range. I have since revised the design of the room and added another 1000w hps. I have attached a ghetto ass MS Paint design of what the room looks like from above.

As you can see, things will be spread out quite well around the 7.5' x 12' room. I hope this is enough lighting, space, and ventilation for the 40 Trainwreck/Big Bud clones I ordered from my clone guy yesterday. Take a look and let me know what you think!

Spare me nothing! I would love to get feedback regarding intake/exhaust, lighting, spacing, even strains and nutrients. Is this enough light for 40 plants? What do you think about my strain? I'm most concerned with YIELD!!! Got any tips/hints/words of advice? Props? Let me know I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks in advance RIU!

Wow....You grew 22 plants and only ended up with 110 grams. You must of been overcompensating or lacking one of the five factors in growing.
Which are: Water, air, light, food, and warmth.
You obviously are not lacking light, but I think your overcompensating the light because your lacking something.

In my grows, I grow 8 plants hydroponically in an EBB-Flow setup. I use a 400 watt HPS light, I use the best nutrient and micro nutrient, I use Reversed Osmosis water, I use CO2, I have a constant flow of fresh air entering and leaving my grow area 3 times a minute, and I keep humidity and temperature at optimum levels.
Every month I grow over 500 grams with only 8 plants in SOG method.

Now I might spend more money than you, when it comes to the actual growing cycle. From start to finish I spend approximately $600 which includes nutrient, and electricity. My electricity bill for my grow op is approx. $40/month.

Every part of the 5 factors of growing is extemely critical.
More lighting won't make up for the lack of ventilation.
More ventilation won't make up for the lack of nutrient.
All of these factors must be accounted for.

Congratulations on your grow, hopefully your next grow will be much better.

I just re-read your post and I read it wrong. I missed where you said you grew 1 pound and 110 grams. My bad.
What's the average yield per plant for Purple Hindu.

think he ment 1 pound and a quarter but either way its possible to get a pound off of one 400 watter ive come close and have seen where other ppl have, i think your right on put 20 plants under each thousand watter just make sure you have room to work in thair

i would say u need more lighting or cut the space down a little instead of 7.5 x 12 try 7.5x7.5 u should get alot better results srry u just dont have near enough lighting for that space in my opinon even now with the another 1000 i dont think u have enough light but thats a huge area to optiomuly light that why i sugest making a little bit smaller

I agree with Bongjuice in that I think something other than lack of light is holding you back.

Maybe the answer is in that picture, but it is too small for me to see.

Have you thought about a light mover?

I would Add CO2 and think about going hydro/aeroponics this should increase your yield tremendously.

good point, you could use panda film or sumthin to make the room smaller cause it is a little big for what your doin

and a light mover would be key. You can gain up to 140% more light!

Light movers are mechanical devices that, as the name implies, move an HID in a fixed pattern over a garden. A light mover can increase the coverage of a light by 140%. The real advantage is MUCH more light is available to the plants when the light is in motion. With a stationary light all that is shaded will remain in the shade, but with a mover the light will hit from different angles giving better coverage.

Light movers are found in 2 configurations: spinning arms (kind of like a ceiling fan) and along a rail that moves back and forth. The rail version seems to be much more popular with Overgrowers, probably because it will accommodate an air cooled fixture.

Light rails come in a variety of lengths, but most can be cut to fit any application. Most growers prefer a "smart rail", that is, one that pauses at each end of the rail for a period.

The biggest problem with air cooling a light on a mover seems to be dealing with air duct slack. Apparently, if the light is close to the tops of the plants, the duct may be dragged through the plants, thereby damaging them. Overgrow poster Ferret devised a solution: Use a curtain track, not a rod but the track that has all the little hangers inside that slides very easily. I screwed this to the ceiling of room and used light weight string to attach the air pipe to the little hangers in the track.
As the light moved the track hangers moved along with the air pipe stopping the air ducting from dragging over your plant tops doing damage.
The track cost about $15-$20 at any hardware or store. Simple to set up and it works .

If i get it you now have 1 600w hps and 2 1000w hps... That is ALOT of light! you can grow 50 plants with that. You got a fair yeld from 20 plants but you could have grown many more... Your light is great, put more plants and have a better yeld! If you can send a bigger diagram or pic of your grow room. I believe that when growing indoors its way more efficient to have many small plants than to have few big ones. Look up the Sea Of Green technique to get some ideas on maximizing yeld.
