Getting a 600 watt light and have up to a 6x6x5.5 space and would like to find out what size would be optimal for a 600 watt hps. Was planning on about 5 plants consisting of GHS Bubblegum Kush and either Lemon Skunk or Fruity Juice Chronic. Wanted to pull an lb per cycle. I was planning on a 5x5x5.5 but I wasn't sure if light intensity was going to be enough. I am going to clip the tops and lst the 4 branches to the edge of the 5 gal. buckets and let them grow up from there. Lining will probably be white poly. THANKS!:bigjoint:

I'd say go with four...you don't wanna crowd them. If you're set on doing five...you can try five and if it gets crowded get rid of one.

I use a 600w setup if I veg my plants for six weeks i would use 8 plants, 8 or 9 weeks of veg I would drop down to 6 plants.I veg my plants using a 6 bulb 4ft t5 fluorescent. This seems to fill the closet and allow my fans to blow threw the plants nicely and produce nice healthy Buds.

If you needed to go 5x5 you could use the 600 watt plus a few CFLs for supplemental lighting. At around 89,000 lumens per 600 watt bulb. You would get a little over 5k lumens per sq foot. 5X5 is around 3k. So you would need supplimental for anything over 4x4.

2' tubes or a few CFLs would work but 600 watt HPS by itself would be pushing it over 4x4.
