Hey all, So I originally started a GJ thread for my first grow, using the bubbleponics system from SH.

https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/105475-stealth-hydro-bubbleponics-growing-topp.html

Then, I found that Longhornfan had actually started his grow nearly the same time as I had, and he is using the same system.

THUS! the race has begun in this new thread. We are going to be sharing this GJ in a friendly little race to the finish.

You can read my other GJ and see whats happened so far.

Gr33n,

Man the room I have my cabinet in is stinking bad. I think someone stuck a skunk in my groom....The girls are real tall. I will post pics on them tomorrow.

Has anyone had runts and were they ever able to catch up?

Longhorn,

Yah, mine are pretty smelly too.

I have some wierd like brown slime stuff in the resevoir. like sticking to the sides, and i can see its on the roots. when I cleaned the resevoir out last time, it was in there too, i poured it out into a bathtub and i could see fat chunks of brown slime...

not sure what it is, but i can see it collecting again... any ideas?

Im gonna clean it out tomorrow and get some pics up too.

Yeah that is algae. How often are you cleaning out the reservoir? Also, use about two teaspoons of Hydrogen Peroxide when you do the next flush. It happens...I have to chang batteries in my camera and will post today. That monster girl is HUGE!!

I figured it was algae. I have been cleaning it like once a week and i do add 2 tablespoons of 3% hydrogen peroxide, but now im thinking i should clean it more often, cuz that algae forms quickly. I wonder if i could throw a plecostamus (a sucker fish) in there to eat the algae. lol. wonder if it could survive in there...plenty for it to eat!

other than that the plants look good, ill get some pics up. I'm leaving today to go up north. so my girl is in charge of them:o

I'll still be checkin the threads though...

I never thought about that fish, I dont know why you couldnt. there is plenty of oxygen in there. Try that, it wont eat the roots, the nutes probably wont hurt it

I have seen people say the higher percentage of Hydro Peroxide should be used.

Have fun up north, doing a flush on Sat so see how Sunday morning looks.

BTW,

BTW, I had some algae line on my tank also and when I flushed I wiped it down and it has been all good so far.

I flushed today and moved a plant around. I shocked the snot out of my big girl, so I have to add the second half of nutes later today. I will take pics in the morning and post them, since they are all hanging...;-(

HaHa..they are doing real good, didnt post pics because the damn camera batteries died. They responded well...They were smelling so bad today, that I had to add a carbon filter. I also got pics and will snap some in the morning. Look for Roseman on here, he is invaluable as I am sure you know. It looks like he is back..hopefully he will follow us along on our journey!!

glad to hear yours are doin good...

I got back and mine are huge...they grew alot in that two days.

I'm going to move them into 3-5 gallon buckets and let them get bigger. The SH unit doesnt seem like it can accomadate 6 big plants. They're only 18 days old and allready growing into eachother and the roots are getting tangled. I'm going to get buckets with lids and cut a hole the same size of the net pot they're in now and just drop 'em in the buckets. Each one will have its own resevoir with an airstone. Then once they get bigger ill tie them down to increase the yield.

I also got some fox farm nutes and will switch to RO water... sweet.

PICS!

Gr33n...

1) The plants look stellar.
2) We have the same lighter! The camera flash kinda screwed with the color, but aside from yours having a safety (ick) they're the same. +rep...or maybe not since you have a safety on yours. We'll see.

LonghornFan...

I wanna see your monster!! Umm...the plant.

Here are the girls. All of them are cranking up now...The monster has kind of slowed just a bit. But I did one thing Roseman suggested, I am running 24 hr light about 24 inches above them to stretch them just a little...Will see how that goes...Here are the pics!!!
