Ordering seeds tonight -- have grown before, but never autos... which ones?

Hey guys, I've grown a couple of times, and have used GrassCity in the past.

Well, I'm defecting (only so many idiotic comments a man can handle!).

My setup is:

400w hps
5gal Bubblebuckets
GH nutes.

My space is about 3.5'x3.5', decently ventilated, and will be improving the whole operation to be slightly more light-tight than in the past (it was never bad!).

The problem is I'm not just growing for myself, as my wife also partakes medicinally (...she'd toke like a beast even if it weren't medical, but then, so would I! :weed:)

I'm looking for some good suggestions, I could talk about yield and such... but that has too many variables to really expect a fair response to (if general yield is notably above other autos, that's great, but like I said... I know that one is way tough to call, but I figure certain strains will have intrinsic yield differences), so I'll just ask this:

Taking speed into account, what would YOU rec?

Right now I'm leaning heavily toward 60 day wonder, though I've read some negative reviews (which seem to be from a few years ago, could the strain be more stable now?). I've also read/seen a few glowing ones.

I know realistically I'll be looking at closer to 75 days, but is there anything else that can really compare?

Thanks dudes and dudettes for taking the time for me : )

Hi Star,

do you want yield or speed as your main priority? Don't believe everything they put on the packet about speed either!! Calling it 60 Day Wonder gives you the impression that you'll be harvesting in 60 days right?

Auto's are only going to realistically save you a week or two in overall time, and in using bubbleponics that couple of extra weeks vegging will make all the difference in your yield. Plus think of all the extra electricity you'll be using growing auto's.

Auto's may have a place but I don't think they are right for your system and type of growing?

Yeah go with some photos bro autis are not the best for what your running
Just get a shortfliwering photo like caramel or a nice clone
The yield and effect will probably be more pronounced and with the sane amount
Of time and work.

I am at day 73 with an Northern lights Automatic from Sensi seeds, looks like I will pull 5 or 6 ounces from it by day 80 under a 600w hps in a 5x5 tent with two other plants. Maybe you would wanna give that a try......

DSCF4217.jpgThis is my first time growing an autoflower and first time using the waterfarm, I know 5 or 6 oz sounds like alot, but it is just a guess. If I did get 5 ozs out of it I will be happy...Cheers...

I ran a few auto freebees this run and the result was less than satisfying. The strain I ran was critical auto and it finished in around 50 days. It looked great very frosty nugs but the THC content was around 8%. From the research that I have done on RIU most say auto are not the way to go? They have all the bark with no bite if that makes sense. I would like to here if someone has had a good run of autos I have several seeds left but don't want to waste valuable space in my grow room.

Hi Smoke, just curious as to which lighting schedule you are using? Also what training did you do to that plant?

For around the past 40 days my lights have been on 12/12, due to my other 2 plants being photo period was ready too bud. Early on I tried to do some LST but broke the top off, and learned that this is a really brittle plant, if I try and do anything with it I am likely to break it.

I really enjoyed my last crop of auto dutch passion blueberry. But it's not speedy, good things come to those that wait. They say 8 weeks of flowering, but mine wasn't perfect until 10 weeks. Totally worth the wait though. Plant was hearty, ate nutrients like candy, and had long, dense, fruity buds.

Very nice man. You starting to get a good percentage of milky trichomes yet or are the still pretty clear. Awesome job!

That is sort of my point, if you add on say 4 weeks veg to that it still took 14 weeks. Where as you could get a photo plant that you know finishes in 8 weeks, and veg them for an extra 2 weeks in a 5lt bubbler which would make a massive difference.

I found a 60-100 power lighted scope on amazon for around 7$ shipped. It works surprisingly well for the money. The local shops want 30 bucks for a similar power scope.

I like auto's because I only have 1-3 plants going at a time. I can start a new plant anytime I want because my light schedule never changes. Kind of like a perpetual grow in a single growing chamber for a personal stash guy.
