That's what I call them. I alternate neem, bt, and spinosad at times for the girls. I don't like spraying my greens that I eat daily with anything, it's a slug fest with them. I did use bt on my cauliflower and broccoli, they still tore me up this year.
Yes, this is my first year not using spinosad. There's so many bee hives around, and it definitely can cause colony collaspe, so haven't used any this year.

Hey guys, I've been lurking for awhile, thought I'd share a few pics. BTW, appreciate all the info, keep it coming. Here, South WIL Valley, cut from sugar black rose and oregon diesel. I've topped and super cropped the hell out of the sbr, just keeps getting bigger. :) about 7 ft, I think the stretch is finally slowing. Few pistols here and there, veg finally tightening. Od has had a bunch of pistols for weeks, finally starting to form flowers. Both plants were put out in late may, crammed between tomato plants. The pot plants are winning! Better spacing next yr. Sbr on the left, od on the right, although they are both running together. No bad bug Probs so far, but something is definitely munching on the leaves.

Nice Mr. B.
That is the look, and color of a healthy Oregon outdoor plant.
A few of mine are starting to show signs of flower formation too... though mine have been in the ground since around March 15 (the ides of March, 50/50 light period), a bit longer than yours.
Keep up the good grow man...
Here's what some of my girls are looking like....

Anybody run Archive's 'grape smugglers?' I've been hearing some discouraging things about the strain...

I've started to see white moths bouncing around the yard, and the occasional worm on a plant -- but so far not on my cannabis, just on other plants in the garden. So far I've done one spraying with Neem and some other organic ingredients, I'll do another next week.

I've been doing a lot of experiments, and I think this is the last time I'll do an outdoor scrog. As I go out daily to as-gently-as-possible guide the branches along and eventually through the screen, I keep thinking about how much stress this is putting the plant under, and how I've read that stress (like with humans) impacts the plants immune system and makes it vulnerable. Totally anecdotal and unscientific, but only the plants I scrogged last year got PM -- I never put it together before and it might be premature to do that, but we'll see how things go this year (last year's that got PM were also from clones, not seeds, and were under an imperfect cover, and were different strains... too many variables to assign a definitive cause...).

The plants I have in the ground just doing their thing unencumbered, are looking like a healthy Oregon outdoor plants should. Next year I'm going to plan my garden around the lowest stress possible. Since I want to keep them smaller (shorter than 6' and under a 1/2lb harvest each) I think I'll just plant them later. Keep it simple.

The white moths are not the problem. They are cabbage moths and will go after plants in the Mustard Family. We are concerned with the budworm whose moth is tan and apparently comes out at night. I have had 3 micro budworms on my 2 auto flowers even with sporadic spraying of bt. When my photoperiodic plants start budding I will be more diligent in spraying. Good luck

I find a weekly spray through the 4th week usually eliminates them for the most part. I use mostly soap after that besides beneficial bacteria and it has been doing the trick thus far. Bud worms are nasty and if you dont prevent they will get your crop. no doubts about it out there in ca.

Mine made it what are yall using to keep em covered during frost? Wanna start prepping ahead of time
I just drape a light piece of painters plastic or even a light cotton bed sheet to ward off the frost- of course this keeps the plant only 3-4 degrees warmer than with no covering, so it's only good for the light freezes. Usually all my stakes that are holding up branches keep the material from rubbing up on the cola tips.

Man I wouldn't spray shit on my plants once they're far enough along to have the bud caterpillar be an issue- that would be once the buds are fully developed, or getting pretty close to it- I'd hate to spray anything that will be smoked. I've got the moths flopping around at night now too, but the buds aren't developed enough for them to use, but soon, it'll be a problem... really though, I only lost about an ounce or so last season to the bud caterpillars eating, pissing, and shitting inside colas. So I just except there will be a little bit of loss. I leave my porch light on and periodically smash the fuckers that are attracted to the light, maybe I get a few of em on their way into my garden, before they can fuck up a cola.

Check out this pheno of blackberry trainwreck, it's got deep purple stems and stalk... the entire thing, not just some of the usual purple streaking on some of the stems of fan leaves I've encountered many times in various strains. This entire plant is just different looking... can't wait to see how nice the buds are gonna be:)

You can see by the color and development of its leaves, that the purpling isn't some kind of deficiency or anything, the plant is vigorous and healthy... just has different coloring on the stems. image.jpeg

thanks for the advice i was going to use chicken wire and plastic around it like a dome and put em individually on and off as the time goes on but worried bout bud rot during that frost and humidity up in dome hoping for some good advice here i really like that sheet how effective is it and what do you use for bugs once you begin flowering? I use DE during veg and all so i cant use that during flowering next year im doing companion planting
