Organic Cloning

I have often wondered whether or not cloning gel and cloning powder is healthy. i would assume that they are in some way inorganic. whether or not there are toxins in these that build up and come through in the smoke is up for discussion. I have heard that you can use straight vitamin b. also willow cuttings bioled into a solution is supposed to wrk. what do you guys think??

Cloning powders and gels have an active ingredient that is normally made by your plants. Its an Auxin Hormone.

I think its made synthetically.

But I guess its organic lol

probaly synthetic.,.,but it wont have time to build up,.,.by the time ure ro0ts are established and u flower itll be flushed out the plant,imo.,.,its not like ure feeding it that ro0t hormone al l threw flower.,.,

I would venture to guess it's not organic. But as cb200 said above, you use so little of it one time that it probably isn't going to impact the microorganisms that make organics work.

Have you ever tried cloning without any powder or gel? I'm sure it worked long before rooting hormones came around...

Oddly Both,

Its a Organic Compound that is Synthesized.

That is Very interesting, thanks for the link. of course i don't quite understand it and im not quite sure whether i consider it organic. i think its probably true that too little of the chemicals come through in the eventual smoke, however someone said something about it not being safe for commercial food consumption, even though this would probably be FDA based and i have about as little trust in the FDA as i do in western medicine, i still have my skepticism.

Also
I started three of the clones useing the water clonging method, in the FAQ section, i thought i might see the beginning of roots, but i was unsure, and didnt want risk it, as leaves were beginning to yeloow, so i just threw some shults takeroot on and dput them in some soil, at least 2 or 3 are rooted already, and i hopefully will end up with five.
Just a bagseed experiment.
Thanks for your replies guys.:peace::mrgreen::joint::joint:

organic cloning solution:
~4 cups of willow leaves
~6-8 cups water (warm but not hot)
let mix sit togeather for some time at least 1 or 2 hrs.
take ur cuttings. let soak in the strained solution(ive seen all of um say strained but i honestly wouldnt see why it matters) anywhere from 20 min to 2 hrs. again cut the original cut UNDERWATER in the solution, let sit for few more min

ALL TIMES AND MEASUREMENTS are not set in stone. if you read enough ull find all different times and measurements.
it all comes down to that a willow tree's leaves have the rooting hormone built in. has been used as a cloning solution for longer than all of us have been alive, combined.
with this being said have always wondered if ya could cut a willow branch down, stick it in the ground, and as long as the temps and humidity were ideal would the tree continue to grow after some sorta setback

Speaking as a chemist, "organic" means a molecule as has a carbon backbone. PVC is organic, to a chemist. I don't know all the rules for what organic farming is, but I know there are a lot of different definitions---California's code being one of the most strict.

You'd have to have one bitch of an immunity response to get a reaction from the amount of material absorbed during cloning. Think of it just in terms of the weight of plant material at the end (include roots and other waste) versus the weight of whatever is clinging to the clone when you dip it. Even if 100% of the chemical gets absorbed, and is persistant, the plant is going to dilute it hundreds of times by harvest. Still, some people get reactions to stuff that's done in 1 trillionth of a part. Wow!
