Oscilating Fans

is it really nessicary to have a rotating fan inside of a grow tent? my friend didnt have one during the whole veg stage and it was fine. then he put 1 in during flowering but it seems like resin is forming on the side where the fan is. not too sure. any discussion on this? do they really help plants that much???

i've heard differing opinions on this but is seems like most ppl recommend a fan to promote stalk/branch strength maybe it wouldn't matter that much if you weren't growing large plants since they won't have to support large buds, idk.
i'd be interested to get some more opinions on this too..
Why did resin form on the side with the fan?

no it worked the other way. i think heavy resin is forming more so where the fan does not hit. i would prefer not to run a fan at all.

maybe it would be better to run a fan during veg and then dont run one during flower?

what is the point of running a fan during flowering? heat not being an issue

Oscilating fans increase stem strength, and prevent the buildup of c02-impoverished air around the leaves.

if u dont have a fan then your plant will die bc without air blowin around, there will be toxins that build up and suffocate the plant, not allowing it to breathe.oscilating fans are the best cus they blow the air all around and not in one centralized location.

Wackymack what kind of toxins build up around your plants?? They will not suffocate without a fan, but it will strengthen the stems. They do increase the transpiration rate of the plant so they do uptake more nutes and that could explain the extra resin formation on the buds. Learned that in environmental biology!

Fans also help in reducing the chance of powdery and other mold due to stale air. Moving air creates an environment that makes it tough for mold to grow. Grow rooms should feel like you have a gentle breeze going at all times.

and dont forget having a fan makes bugs unhappy and reduces chance of infestation.

if your fan is blowing crystals off your plants you might want to back it off of hurricane setting ;)
